A resident of Mexico has been charged for conspiracy to grow marijuana with the intent to distribute it and damage to public lands and natural resources, according to federal prosecutors.
Everado Cuadro Campos, 49, who is from Michoacan, Mexico, was arrested July 17 at a marijuana garden in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest in Shasta County, according to a news release by the United States Department of Justice.
U.S. Forest Service and California Department of Fish and Wildlife agents found a marijuana cultivation site near Rock Creek, according to a Department of Justice criminal complaint, and entered through a well-worn path. A Forest Service special agent noticed plastic water lines that diverted water from a drainage area of the nearby creek.
The piping led the agents to a campsite, where a rifle, homemade spear, and knives were found, the complaint said. Agents followed the trail down to marijuana growth site, where they heard footsteps and Campos appeared, though he ran as soon as he saw the agents, the complaint said.

The criminal illegals are destroying the forests of California with water diversions, clearing and chemicals.
And they poison or shoot any animal that gets near the grow.
Life in Prison, deport the body.
Dude , personnel use only man ,LOL
I’m for legalization, especially for personal growth and use.
Unfortunately, the temptation for government to treat MJ as a huge new revenue source seems irresistable. The taxes are likely to be so high that they will encourage a substantial black market to undercut the legal stuff. That’s stupid policy.
“Life in Prison,”
The cartel will will have his replacement here before his trial.
Life in Prison, deport the body.

How about if we just deport the body and skip the life in prison part?
Dave’s not here man.
No, it’s Dave
I told you, Dave’s not here
Build the wall. Shoot to kill!!
Total waste of taxpayer money to put this guy up for life. We got illegals raping children who don’t get this kind of sentence.
He should be deported and his nation of origin fined for the damage and cleanup.
Of my four acquaintances using personal marijuana, one (who did not go on oxygen) diedlikely of other "substance-use". Of two that went on oxygen, one died last month. Another, who suffered a miscarriage, hasn't spoken to me since I showed the study connecting the two.
Chances are he will never serve a day.
This is proof that a pot head has no motivation. 2,079? A sober person would have made it an even 2,080. Sad times.
They wont give him life. They probably will let him off entirely since hes Mexican.
Opinions vary. I know people who enjoy it responsibly... at least compared to typical alcohol use/abuse.
But, my main point was that government greed will keep taxes on it so high that the black market won’t go away.
As does this one. Put these cartel scumbags in prison
He had a rifle in his possession at his campsite. What were his intentions had some innocent hikers stumbled upon his grow operation?
Probably only solution. Put armed volunteers on the wall who do not hesitate to fire on invaders.
But a criminal, illegal alien invader to the US, openly violating US law.
I’ll see your 2,000 plants and raise you 50,000...

“What were his intentions had some innocent hikers stumbled upon his grow operation? “
It wasn’t “warning shots”, as the site of the grow would then be known. 2,000 outdoor plants at maturity could produce 5,000 pounds of clean buds, easy. That’s 5-10 million dollars wholesale.
You can bet there was a shovel at the site too.
Weed is free to cheap in Oregon. You can spend big bucks on derivatives, paraphernalia, grow lights if you want, but weed is like zucchini.
