Jane Fonda admits she was thoughtless in Vietnam By Danielle Turchiano, Variety 3-4 minutes
Jane Fonda has had a five-decade-plus career as an actress, but prior to getting involved in anti-war activism after the Vietnam War, Fonda says her life was eventful, but not as meaningful.
I was a kind of pretty girl who made movies, Fonda said at the Television Critics Association panel for her upcoming HBO documentary, Jane Fonda in Five Acts. When I decided to throw in my lot with the anti-war movement, everything shifted. Everything. The way I looked at the world and other people, people I was drawn to.
Everything changed.
At the time, Fonda recalled, she met some American soldiers in Paris, who told her what they had seen and done in the war. Prior to that experience, she admitted she had been completely uninvolved in anything political and didnt even know where Vietnam was. She had also believed that if there were men fighting, they were on the side of the angels.
I didnt like it that there were men in France that knew better than I did, she said. The coin shifted. I said, I feel betrayed by this countrys leadership. Weve been lied to, and I want to do anything I can to expose that.
Fonda then became a strong part of the anti-war movement; she was famously photographed sitting on an anti-aircraft gun in 1972, which earned her the nickname Hanoi Jane.

EDIT: This does not mean that all those present AT THE CRUCIFIXTION saw the pearly gates simply because Jesus forgave them.

Didn’t Hanoi Jane recently express a desire to blow up the White House?

Sure is hard to wash away treason, ain’t it Janey? Quit trying. It’s not what you did. It’s what you are. That you can’t wash away anyhow. You’ll live with it. And you’ll die with it.

Jane thinks she has a few more decades? She really is living in an alternate universe. She is 80 years old. She has maybe 5 years left, if she is lucky. I cannot imagine the remaking of 9 to 5 with her, Dolly Parton and Lilly Tomlin. Are they kidding?
To: Sub-Driver
Just a little late Jane. I don’t think so. You picked against our troops. That is your legacy! FU!

"I met refugees from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia during the time I was studying at Cal State. It was then I realized that the American military presence in Southeast Asia was the only thing standing between innocent civilians and outer darkness."
I've attached a picture of the monument that stands at Camp Talega which is the northern most camp on Marine base Camp Pendleton. It commemorates the thousands of Vietnamese refugees that were temporarily housed there at the end of the war. I wonder if Jane ever went there and visited, doubt it. Let's also keep in mind that when Jane did this, she wasn't a dumb kid, she was a 35 year old woman. Old enough to know what propaganda is.
The left poo poohed the domino theory which in fact happened after the fall of South Vietnam. Formerly free Laos and Cambodia fell to communism (as well as South Vietnam) and we had hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of people get killed. I point this out to my leftist friends and they have no answer.

I thought john mccain was the top of the list for bladder relief purposes..? Then Michael O and barry. then Comey, and peter stotrzxy whatever, an hillary. I'm thinking about starting a gravesite tour in 15 years. lasts about 2 weeks. with free drinks on the bus. and possibly, for and extra 5 bucks ( for the hard core customers) AYCE tacos. And we will only visit graves after 11 pm.

I like it that she still has to explain herself and her motives up until the day she dies. I hope it weighs heavy on her heart but I doubt that it does, she just says what her publicist tells her what they think she should say about this time of her life.

I always liked her Dad, Henry.
He was from Nebraska & served in WWII in the navy.
Her mother was... well... troubled, and Canadian.
My guess is that's where Jane's permanent sense of betrayal came from.

What she did was the act of an arrogant, spoiled, stupid, wholly self-absorbed, and completely unprincipled ass.
After all these years, nothing she can say will redeem her or her decision to go there, do that and say that ... What she did and said is still shameful and INDEFENSIBLE!
All her apologies since then (if you can call them that) are pointless. They serve just to continue the public perception of her as a “more-money-than-brains” creep who’s ‘career’ is STILL a sham.

Dad was ANOTHER socialist creep-I remember his whiny BS performance in “Grapes of Wrath”.
The hell with HIM too. She sure came by her Communist mentality from the source.
