Jane Fonda admits she was ‘thoughtless’ in Vietnam By Danielle Turchiano, Variety 3-4 minutes
Jane Fonda has had a five-decade-plus career as an actress, but prior to getting involved in anti-war activism after the Vietnam War, Fonda says her life was “eventful,” but not as meaningful.
“I was a kind of pretty girl who made movies,” Fonda said at the Television Critics Association panel for her upcoming HBO documentary, “Jane Fonda in Five Acts.” “When I decided to throw in my lot with the anti-war movement, everything shifted. Everything. The way I looked at the world and other people, people I was drawn to. … Everything changed.”
At the time, Fonda recalled, she met some American soldiers in Paris, who told her what they had seen and done in the war. Prior to that experience, she admitted she had been “completely uninvolved” in anything political and “didn’t even know where Vietnam was.” She had also believed that if there were men fighting, they were “on the side of the angels.”
“I didn’t like it that there were men in France that knew better than I did,” she said. “The coin shifted. I said, ‘I feel betrayed by this country’s leadership. We’ve been lied to, and I want to do anything I can to expose that.’”
Fonda then became a strong part of the anti-war movement; she was famously photographed sitting on an anti-aircraft gun in 1972, which earned her the nickname “Hanoi Jane.”

She has a new movie/documentary out, so it’s time for her to “apologize” again.

She was as old, or older, than many of the good men and women fighting, and dying, for America in the war. She knew that her “endorsement” for the North would under mind the war effort...but she did it anyway.
As dumb as she is now, she must have been a vegetable back then.
I hope she isn’t expecting any restitution from the American public at this point. She’s been grown for a lot of years, and waits until her 70’s to try and be excused for it.

Jane the “attention whore” has been “thoughtless” her entire time here on the planet. And without remorse. Every decade or so she puts out a sound bite on the collusion with known communists, (which BTW - the North Vietnamese communists were totally under the USSR sphere of influence), and tries to disavow or soften the blows and collateral damage inflicted by her actions.
Sadly, she has done well over the years but there is a longing to be chaste and pure in the eyes of history. But it cannot be so. It is all vanity.

Yep. And she’s old, and knows only older people might watch it, and that a lot of them don’t Like her.
She’s actively and publicly supported communists and abortionists. She’s made her bed.
She organized "antiwar vets'" groups, she campaigned for the enemy and against the President at home, she made propaganda broadcasts from Radio Hanoi telling us to lay down our arms and surrender to the enemy, she came home from Hanoi and trumpeted the enemy's propaganda - such as the "US is bombing the Red River Dikes to commit genocide" she came home with on one trip.
She was an active, hateful sponsor of treason and she isn't really apologizing if she is pushing the "I was just a poor, dumb actress who was caught up in things" narrative.
Jesus ALWAYS forgives... and so should I... “Father, forgive them, they know not what they do!!”
This does not mean that all those present will see the “pearly gates”. Jesus extends forgiveness to ALL. But the effects of forgiveness are totally dependent on our personal repentance and acceptance. I hope her heart is truly contrite... as I hope all come to know the mercy and love of Christ.
