William Maillis is not an average 11-year-old. He graduated from St. Petersburg College with an associate degree in Florida Saturday and has been called a “genius.”
He wants to be an astrophysicist and scientifically prove the existence of God when he grows up, according to Spectrum News 9.
“Everybody has gifts from God. I was gifted with knowledge and science and history,” Maillis said, according to ABC Action News
Maillis, the son of an Orthodox priest, has always been a fast learner and graduated high school at age 9, according to the Tampa Bay Times. He quoted a Bible verse in Greek at his high school commencement.
Maillis plans to continue his college career at the University of South Florida. “I want to prove to the world that God does exist through science,” Maillis said.
By the time most of his peers graduate high school, he would like to already have a doctorate degree, according to St. Petersburg College

If people don’t accept creation as proof, or prophetic prophecies which demonstrate God’s foreknowledge, or miracles which demonstrate God’s power, then they aren’t likely to accept whatever proof he comes up with.

I wish him well, but I don’t think God made it that easy, not at least in the way he’s probably thinking about proving it.

Probably the best way to do it. That way none of the administration or faculty is aware of what is being said.

God invented and implemented physics; but He is not in physics, the earthquake, the whirlwind, or the raging fire. He is Spirit, not material.
It is still amazing to me that God DOES intervene in physics, and that He DID create beings, in His Image, with whom He can dwell, communicate and render assistance.
This is what makes the Incarnation the signal event in the history of the universe; because it is when God merged Spirit with flesh, eternal with temporal, and miraculous with mundane.
So, good luck, kid, and keep the faith, whether in spite of, or because of, what you find out!

As humans, we are constrained in what what our finite thinking process, limited by a set of legos and principles as it is, can get its thinking hands around. Having some humility around the 'don't know you don't know' quadrant is wise.
Then it's possible to know without needing thinking.
But I also say 'go get 'em! tough guy'. Admire anyone who takes on an impossible task as long as he's not hurting anyone. He will learn SOMETHING. But probably it will be how yuge and beyond thought is what he seeks to prove. That is a good thing.
Then he will understand the difference between knowing and proving. (And the difference between knowing and belief.)
An Associate degree is not ‘graduating college’. An Associate degree is an expensive high school diploma.

What a remarkable boy! I would of course be proud of him and encourage learning, I would also be concerned that this child might feel isolated and lonely due to his intellect.
Hopefully, he knows how to have fun with kids of his own age once in a while.
Hopefully, his parents remember how important it is to be a child and do childish things when all is age appropriate. At some point, if not already, I would expect a young person like this to become an entrepreneur, and establish his own existence via capitalism, creating jobs for other people.
I once read a 790 page book by Hans Kuhn on “Does God Exist?”.
He offered proof after proof that God existed. But after each, he presented a counter argument. He finally concluded that you couldn’t prove God existed, but that God could reveal himself to you.
Of course I’m sure it wasn’t exhaustive. And some of the arguments, I thought were pretty strong.
Any Associate Members of the Unnecessary Quotes Reporting Squad want to weigh in here? If somebody said, "that kid is a genius", I think "he has been called a genius" is correct. Or is something like "his Ford Focus has been called a 'car'" is the correct way to do it now?
Good scientists need to document. Bad scientists create phony science for political expediency. IE the.nazis genetics and Eugenics. Another example of bogus science is anthropomorphic global warming. Socialists love bad science.
I welcome a group of 200+ IQ geniuses to find the truth of a creator.
This is the sort of kid that NASA may want to train for certain tasks, tasks light years beyond the average American.
