Sunday on CBSs Face the Nation, Democratic nominee for New York States 14th congressional district November election Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Congress being 80 percent male created blind spots in our legislation.

MARGARET BRENNAN: Last week on this program we had the man you defeated, the New York Congressman Joe Crowley and he congratulated you on your win. He said you very much deserved it. He also explained two factors he thought that were- were decisive here. One of them being the year of the woman, he called it, and also the timing of the primary. Are those factors in your view?
OCASIO-CORTEZ: Well, I think that the factors that ultimately created our win was the fact that we had bold commitments and I campaigned on hard commitments of Medicare for all, tuition free public college, ensuring a Green New Deal for our future and championing those issues were the reason that we won. We won across demographics. We won- we expanded the electorate ourselves. We did the work of organizing.

Wimpy males think they are impressing women for more dates if they look pro-feminist and in fashion. A study showed females had less sex with such males and actually had more with traditional sexist males. Too bad, suckers.
Once the socialists get in they will force males to have toxic masculinity shaming sessions in public and then indoctrination sessions, possibly in a camp if they don’t give up quickly.

I think she may cause more problems for the Left/Dems than conservatives/GOP. Shes young, attractive, smart, hip. And, although she has a lot to learn she is learning fast. If she and Bernie should team up they could split the democrat party and even push moderates to the GOP. Should be interesting....

Years ago I worked for a company making products exclusively for women. The parent corporation began a big diversity initiative to place more women in key decision making roles in product design and marketing. Diversity consultants assured management young women would make better decisions than the men occupying the roles because they had a better intuitive understanding of the market. As company shifted its focus to “female centric” it almost immediately began losing market share to competitor firms where males made the key product development and marketing decisions.
I asked a woman who had worked for the company for many years, and who had been ignored in the rush to install and promote “young” women, why the push to feminize the company had resulted in declining sales not the growth promised by the diversity experts. She had a very simple explanation — the trap women fall into is emotionally projecting their own preferences on the total marketplace. In her opinion since men didn’t use the product they could assess product features and review customer research objectively. Women tended to be emotionally attached to their perceptions and would continue to push ideas passionately even when data from the marketplace or customer research proved their ideas wrong. Competition would cut and close quickly on failed new products while our company would continue to invest in failing products because an executive believed the new products would eventually catch on.
It is possible there was some truth to that observation but I have met many women who are excellent at analyzing data and making rational, fact based decisions. From my perspective the critical error was the company replacing seasoned, proven veterans who knew the industry and had learned from past mistakes with young aggressive executives hired from outside the industry. The newcomers didn’t know what they didn’t know and had no desire to listen to the seasoned veterans they quickly sent to the unemployment line. Many were also managing their careers more than taking the time to study and learn the new business. Their previous experiences didn’t apply to the new industry, just as their personal experience with similar products didn’t project to the entire marketplace.
Diversity for the sake of diversity is a losing proposition. Ultimately each human is a unique individual and will succeed (or not) based on a combination of intellect, technical skills, personality, creativity, leadership, and dedication. Ethnic background, gender, or other “group” identity add nothing to one’s ability to reason, make decisions and lead people. Any organization that staffs for diversity over the skill requirements of the positions, will achieve suboptimal results.
Did she just assume their gender? She needs to check her privledge and stop the hate.
