The new face of an emerging democratic socialist movement joined its patriarch in the most unlikely place Friday, calling on Kansans unhappy with the direction of the country to get off the sidelines in a pivotal Republican-held congressional district.
We know that people in Kansas, just like everywhere else in this country, just like families in the Bronx, just want a fair shake, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the surprise winner in a New York House primary last month, told a frenetic crowd of more than 3,000 in a Kansas suburb of Kansas City.
[snip]The 28-year-old Latina from New York and the 76-year-old Jewish senator from Vermont struck a stark contrast in the hotel ballroom, though they reflected the range of people in the racially and ethnically mixed crowd, weighted toward millennials but including gray-haired activists and parents with children.
Their combined messages sought to unite not just the diverse group in the hall, but restless liberals around the country.

She’s not worried about winning her seat ,it’s in the bag Comrade
Actually, I believe the USA is full of practical if not named communists, probably more here than in Russia.
“HST used to laugh that K.C. is a suburb of his Independence. Its a heavily Democrat area for sure, and HST would be right there cheering them along.”
HST was old school and would be booted from today’s democrat (communist) party.
Hopefully the good people of Kansas will show up in droves and send her packing.
Another low IQ Democrat. Ocasio-Cortez can’t even explain Socialism.
They think it’s a Social Club
One thing she does know: Many of her constituents have their bills paid by others, and many of her constituents pay nothing in taxes. She may not understand socialism, but someone has explained to her that it is only the reason many of her peeps are even eating and sheltered.
Yep. I read the Christian population , all denominations is 73%. Of which 43% attend memberships.
This is the Kansas 3rd Congressional district. The state isn't exactly a hotbed of Trump support to begin with - Cruz beat Trump in the primary by 25 points - and Kansas 3rd went for Hillary in the general. It's Wyandotte County, Johnson County, and a part of Miami County. Suburban KC for the most part. Yoder the floater has a fight on his hands this year. The Democrats have a crowded primary and they will have to unite behind the winner but if they do then Yoder could be in trouble.
Actually she should not Hillary the real election. Cromley is still on the ticket for another party. Secondly, as she speaks and people realize that there is nothing there watch out!. Also like to see Republicans vote for Cromley to do away with this light weight.
Wonder if they pay any income taxes?
Im sorry . I left those stats are in Russia
Are there enough Republicans in the Bronx to have any effect?
I am shocked Bernie isnt up at one of his expensive vaca houses on Lake Champlain. Man of the people right there folks. As long as the people arent on his private island.
As if Trump Derangement Syndrome weren’t enough to send the Democrats over the edge, they’ve now also contracted Ocasio-Cortez Disorder, which compels them to endlessly promote a silly young Socialist Latina whose every other utterance is an embarrassment.
Maybe the Dems are stupid enough to run Warren and this Latina loon as her VP.
Your optimism is praiseworthy. But I am not convinced. I have family members who are not on welfare and who are not government employees who think Trump is the greatest disaster to hit this country in forever. They have participated in several of the “marches” held so far since President Trump took office. In fact, I am the only Trump supporter in my entire family. Doesn’t bode well for the future.
I dont know. However Cromley aint going down without a fight
Your diagram should be on every high school bulletin board.
>>We know that people in Kansas, just like everywhere else in this country, just like families in the Bronx, just want a fair shake,
Shake down artists; ask the reverent Jessie, now retired.
