Awesome story! Thanks for posting it. =^..^=
Stop posting these cat stories, they’re making my screen blurry.
An intelligent Cat should know where his bread is buttered and generally hang around for the benefits.
Smart Cats are Socialists.
A tabby looks like another tabby.
Jimmy sure is a handsome dude!
My pets do not leave the house. To let them go missing that would mean I failed to take care of them properly.
These people are extremely, extremely lucky. Glad they have him back.
I should stop reading these when I’m cutting up onions. I may accidentally cut myself too.
Heck in my house, the Cats are the Politburo.
* KITTY PING *
Not true. My Buddy is quite unique and comes running when I call to him, even if he is blocks away. I could essily pick him out of a line up of 1,000 tabby cats. When your pets are truly part of the family, they become like your children...except not as messy and they never want a new cellphone or the keys to the car.
Head butts all around
I find this interesting. When I was young we moved quite a distance (~40 miles) from one small town to another. Our tabby Tom walked back to the old place including a fair sized river not once, not twice, but 3 times before he finally grudgingly accepted we had moved.
I’ve heard other stories where animals travel back to locations they moved from on their own.
The reason I find this interesting is that this cat didn’t make it back. Maybe it was too far, but I’m guessing there was something blocking his way between the two places.
Thoughts?
Do you know the biggest single source of the animals in shelters? Shelters, and something like 25% of the animals are known problem animals recycled through multiple families at $300-400 each "rehoming" stay.
Your animal may well be alive but, you wont likely ever see it again. Those of you across the South in particular should know that often, especially after some disaster somewhere, you aren't likely to find your animals because they are immediately shipped to places like Wisconsin and sold to someone here.
We had a cat of that breed we got as a kitten when some people dumped her and her female sibling into our neighbors bushes and sped off. She lived with us for 21 years and her sibling, who was adopted by the neighbors where they were dumped off, lived for 22 years.

Some people want perfect angels and scarcely ever get them. I’m glad to have nippy Icicle even though the shelter had quarantined him for one of his little bites. He’s a super sweet cat most of the time. The bites are his way of complaining about being ignored.
I needed a good cat story this week. Monday I lost mine to cancer. It’s still tough to come home and she’s not there rubbing my leg. She used to come lay beside me as I posted on FR. It’s tough.
Hopefully they’ll keep him inside now.
