President Trump’s longtime lawyer, Michael D. Cohen, secretly recorded a conversation with Mr. Trump two months before the presidential election in which they discussed payments to a former Playboy model who said she had an affair with Mr. Trump, according to lawyers and others familiar with the recording.
The F.B.I. seized the recording this year during a raid on Mr. Cohen’s office. The Justice Department is investigating Mr. Cohen’s involvement in paying women to tamp down embarrassing news stories about Mr. Trump ahead of the 2016 election. Prosecutors want to know whether that violated federal campaign finance laws, and any conversation with Mr. Trump about those payments would be of keen interest to them.

I don’t believe the public would see a payment to a hooker as grounds to remove a sitting president, especially since we’re talking about a consensual event that took place over a decade ago.
Yes, it’s a violation of the law. No, I don’t see it as an infraction that would be impeachment worthy. Folks would laugh at that.
As for paying her, in return for her not telling the story, how would that be a campaign violation?
If Hillary hiring P.I.s to intimidate and silence women Bill Clinton had assaulted, raped, or beaten up wasn’t a problem, then it’s a laugh to think this would be for Trump.
Since this can’t be used to remove Trump, it’s only purpose would be to try and split up his marriage. The party that screams about what people to in their private lives should be their business, sure outs themselves here.
This is what I reference when I say that Melania Trump has put aside her personal feelings, to be the best First Lady she can be.
She is making it look like she has a good relationship with her husband. I hope she does. What I do know is that she could have made a big deal out of this publicly, but she opted to put it aside for the betterment of the nation.

If he lived in New York or New Jersey, he could legally record the other person without telling them, and it would be admissible.
In states like FL, CA, PA, DE, IL, WI, NH, MA, not only would it be admissible, the person doing the recording would be breaking the law.
Now an attorney recording a client ANYWHERE and then releasing it seems like grounds for disbarment to me, but I don’t know how that works.

Also, I would have to guess that if there were legal proceedings in those specific states where two party consent is required, recordings made in states where it was actually be legal might be inadmissible in the states that prohibit it, but I am just guessing.

Their entire goal is to divide Trump’s base and cost him and his party votes. They have been scorched Earth since the day he was elected. It has never abated one bit and it will actually get worse.
