President Trumps longtime lawyer, Michael D. Cohen, secretly recorded a conversation with Mr. Trump two months before the presidential election in which they discussed payments to a former Playboy model who said she had an affair with Mr. Trump, according to lawyers and others familiar with the recording.
The F.B.I. seized the recording this year during a raid on Mr. Cohens office. The Justice Department is investigating Mr. Cohens involvement in paying women to tamp down embarrassing news stories about Mr. Trump ahead of the 2016 election. Prosecutors want to know whether that violated federal campaign finance laws, and any conversation with Mr. Trump about those payments would be of keen interest to them.

If true, violation of attorney-client privilege and of wiretap laws.
Ah, yes. There it is. No discussion with a "Christian" is ever complete without their threat of impending violence.
No payment. Nothing burger.
Mueller needs to be disbarred for this release.
No wonder the Enemedia want to distract the public with this nothingburger Michael Cohen story.
I thought it was illegal to secretly record conversations without the other party being advised.
Remind me what does this have to do with Russia? Oh, that’s right the Special Prosecutor is all about destroying the President in whatever way he can. This is not about Cohen, it is all about Trump.
It is a shame that no one cares who Trump had sex with. I wonder when Dem’s will learn that this issue has no traction with the Trump supporters.
Thank you for the reply.
My follow-on question is this: Does making a payment to someone after an affair in order for them to be quiet about it come under the category of prostitution, legally? Paying for sex is illegal, but this was supposedly paying for silence, not sex.
Am I missing something?
(Obviously, I am not a lawyer)
The rule of law as we know it is ashes. America now is running on leftist law. WTF is Sessions!!!
If the woman was headed to court and he paid her to falsify her testimony, then yes.
If the woman was only expected to talk about it in public, then no.
Now, if a reporting outlet were to pay her for the story, and then sit on it, that might be problematic, if it could be shown he requested them to do it. It might be considered a donation anyway. I just don’t know.
If they do that on their own, it doesn’t seem to me it’s a campaign contribution.
If asked them to do it, then it would be a favor to him during the campaign upon request. That would mean the reporting agency would have been solicited to do it, and it makes it a requested favor. I think that could be problematic, but the courts would have to judge that.
It would depend on how the campaign contribution laws were written. Do they specifically address this type of action?
They may. I don’t know.
I’m not an attorney either, so I’m just using logic here.
You are not the sharpest bulb in the marque nor the brightest tool in the shed. Do us both a favor. Quit your trolling here and go back to DU or Kos or from under whatever rock you crawled out from and go brag how you showed us.
PS. That was not a threat of violence, it was recognizing that you are going to Hell.
The victims of the Clintons who were cast to the curb or slandered by the Leftist Media deserve justice.
To me, justice ends in vengeance on this earthly plane followed by God’s “Vengeance Is Mine Saith The Lord” in the next world, if that is His Plan.
I’ve complained about this since the transition. Pence is a good guy. I have no problem with him. He surrounded himself with too many establishment people, though. I think he thought if they worked for him, they’d give up their views for his agenda. In many cases, they have not. He should have hired people who were loyal to his agenda and him.
Tell me, in what lame brained theology is thinking that Trump is a philanderer who is willing to pay hush money to his extra marital conquests a damnable offence?
The church of MAGA.
You are either one of those insufferable holier than thou people or a troll. Either way I am done feeding you.
I missed watching show... great quote. Thanks.
Dollars to doughnuts that Michael Cohen was working for the democrats at the time. Insurance policy?
Also
Shouldn’t be part of the Russia investigation. Where’s Sessions?
If youre convicted of violating campaign finance laws you pay a small fine. You dont go to prison and if youre the president you dont get kicked out of office. But the McDougal story is a non-starter. No money was exchanged. This is the democrats throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Trump because theres no Russian collusion
If not for the worthless incompetent Mr. McGoo Sessions there would be no investigation, Trump should have fired the embicile a year ago,
Cohen is a registered democrat. This is true. But he seems to have forgotten Trump knows all the mob bosses in NYC and they like him.
So a secret conversation between a lawyer and his client, discussing something that didn’t happen, but would not have been illegal even if he had, about a matter that has nothing to do with Trump’s fitness to be president - this is supposed to lead to his impeachment??
