Special counsel Robert Mueller has reportedly given a key Democratic operative immunity to testify against former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort.
According to Tucker Carlson, speaking Thursday evening on his Fox News program, Mr. Mueller has offered immunity to Tony Podesta, founder of the Podesta Group and brother of former Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta.
Mr. Carlson cited “two sources” whom he did not name.
Both Mr. Manafort and the Podesta Group worked on a campaign named the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine

As I understand it, under a grant of immunity for testimony, they're compelled to testify. They don't have a choice. They can't refuse the immunity either.
The only justification they could give for refusing to testify is avoiding self-incrimination. The grant of immunity removes that justification. They have to testify, whether they want to or not.

Mueller has to be absolutely desperate. The whole optics of this is enormously suspect.
At the end of it all Manafort may have to go all the way to the Supreme Court; if that happens I would expect Manafort to win 9-0. Not because of what I know about the case, but because of what we know about how Whitey Mueller has been so dishonest is past high profile cases.
What a horrible way for Manafort to be spending his “golden years”.

Not true, to my understanding. The immunized person can refuse and take their chances. Otherwise, the normal process of using the immunity carrot with the charges stick is bass ackwards.
agree this is outrageous but this will backfire- as Podesta’s crimes which he receives immunity for are revealed its only going to anger and fire up Trump’s base (that’s us) even more and hopefully bring even more independents over to our side...
Who’s next on his witness list -— Clinton and Obama? This is outrageous! He’s got to be fired. Finding manafort guilty is not the end game here; giving immunity to deep state criminals is. Manafort can be pardoned, but if these criminals are granted immunity, how can they ever be held accountable for THEIR crimes? Pray without ceasing.
