A Republican congressman from Minnesota has a long history of making deeply misogynistic comments on the radio, including lamenting that women can no longer be called "sluts."
CNN's KFile reviewed several months of audio from Rep. Jason Lewis on the "Jason Lewis Show," a syndicated radio program Lewis hosted from 2009 until 2014 with the tagline "America's Mr. Right." In one instance, while arguing that "young single women" vote based on coverage of birth control pills, Lewis said those women were not human beings and were without brains.
Lewis, who was narrowly elected to represent Minnesota's 2nd District in 2016, is considered one of the most endangered House Republicans in the midterm election. CNN rates the race as a "toss up," the most competitive designation.
Lewis can be heard on the radio repeatedly demeaning women, and particularly women voters, in 15 months of audio provided to KFile by Michael Brodkorb, the former deputy chair of the Republican Party of Minnesota. Brodkorb, who is currently a columnist for the MinnPost and works in public affairs, initially revealed some of Lewis' radio comments in a column in February 2016. KFile contacted Brodkorb after seeing his 2016 column and requested raw audio files of Lewis' show, which he provided.

Nothing like having an inside source.
Packwood should have been an object lesson for RINO traitors.
He was adored by the Left, much as McCain is/was, because he was a reliable ally on abortion “rights” in a time when votes on abortion issues were valued by them.
When they gained a Democrat President and a majority in Congress in both the Senate and the House in the 1992 election...the Left didn’t need him anymore. So they got him to resign.
Who says Leftists never do anything good for the country? If only they would have done that with McCain.
Did the NSA find that gem and leak it to the press?
Then again, why are Arizona Republicans so uninformed that they kept re-nominating him? There were better choices.
CNN won't let us post the whole thing on FR.
But it wasn't from NSA, I don't believe. Radio stations keep archives.
Jason Lewis was merely defending Rush, not initiating the name-calling. But CNN is not famous for taking things in context.
Yet it is fine with them for conservative women to be called vile names.
If we don’t have the absolute right to speak freely, then we have next to nothing.
Thanks for the info.
Some of them ARE sluts - just not allowed to speak the truth these days...
The tone of presentation implies being a slut is a bad thing when in the back of a great deal of men’s minds....
It is the power of incumbency, IMO. I live in a completely blue state, and they have tilted things so far from a political infrastructure point that it is impossible to run as a Republican.
My father ran for state office some 40 years ago as a Democrat, because even then, it was impossible. And my dad was no Democrat in any way, shape, or form, but he had no chance otherwise. And that was 40 years ago.
Couple that jury-rigging and gerrymandering with the power of incumbency, and it is fairly solidified cement for Democrats.
One more reason--among many--that we need term limits at the federal level.
Nobody in a free country should be guaranteed a government job for his or her entire life.
Particularly one with unchecked power to reward friends and punish political enemies.
Agreed. This crap about people serving for 30+ years is just stupid.
