WASHINGTON Two weeks before his inauguration, Donald J. Trump was shown highly classified intelligence indicating that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia had personally ordered complex cyberattacks to sway the 2016 American election.
The evidence included texts and emails from Russian military officers and information gleaned from a top-secret source close to Mr. Putin, who had described to the C.I.A. how the Kremlin decided to execute its campaign of hacking and disinformation.
Mr. Trump sounded grudgingly convinced, according to several people who attended the intelligence briefing. But ever since, Mr. Trump has tried to cloud the very clear findings that he received on Jan. 6, 2017, which his own intelligence leaders have unanimously endorsed.

...The shifting narrative underscores the degree to which Mr. Trump regularly picks and chooses intelligence to suit his political purposes. That has never been more clear than this week.
On Monday, standing next to the Russian president in Helsinki, Finland, Mr. Trump said he accepted Mr. Putins denial of Russian election intrusions. By Tuesday, faced with a bipartisan political outcry, Mr. Trump sought to walk back his words and sided with his intelligence agencies.
On Wednesday, when a reporter asked, Is Russia still targeting the U.S.? Mr. Trump shot back, No directly contradicting statements made only days earlier by his director of national intelligence, Dan Coats, who was sitting a few chairs away in the Cabinet Room. (The White House later said he was responding to a different question.)
Hours later, in a CBS News interview, Mr. Trump seemed to reverse course again. He blamed Mr. Putin personally, but only indirectly, for the election interference by Russia, because hes in charge of the country...
Putin organized a "phishing" scam -- one which the pothead DNC staffers fell for, and the RNC staffers didn't.
Pretty tired of NYT’s twisted priorities and deranged narratives at this point. The entire lot of them are candidates for institutionalization at this point.
I remember that President Obama chastised, presidential candidate Donald J. Trump that fixing the election was not possible.
If anyone was really serious that there was foreign election meddling, they’d be trying to fix our own election process, not pointing fingers and screaming. If it smells like BS, there’s not a lot else it could be.
Anyone who wishes to remain somewhat on an even-keel basis with the preponderence of information and evidence relating to this whole thing really should listen to Bongino #765.

Can start @ 8:00 and speed up to 1.25 or 1.5x. He is somewhat upset today as one of his Secret Service pals was killed the other day.
But of course. The best way to deal with a nuclear superpower, that has faster and more advanced weapons than you, is to call their leader a liar in public. These people are very dangerous.
What did the Warrior Prince Obama do about it when his intel agencies told him it was happening (on HIS watch)?
Can you summerize please? I only got so many clicks to give.
Told them to stand down.
Nah sis, it’s the deep state coup attempt that has muddied the waters, and don’t ever forget that, or the fake ass dossier and corrupt FBI agents.
And, talk about muddled messages, Obama ridiculed the idea that Russia could hack our election.
If the intelligence was highly classified, how did the NYT find out about it? Isn't divulging highly classified information illegal? If not, what purpose does a highly classified designation serve?
What are the examples of interference?
So if the Russians interfered in the 2016 election, then it happened on Obama’s watch.
And if the CIA knew about it, why didn’t they do anything? Were they ordered not to?
That’s the real scandal here. We’ve seen time and again in politics ... the cover-up is always worse than the initial crime.
We’ve already had the intelligence chiefs testify before Congress that the “Russian interference” had no effect on the election outcome. Now it’s just a question of what Obama and his cronies knew, when they knew it, and what they did about it.
Why should he acknowledge their storyline? If it is real Obama should have lectured Putin when it happened. He should say that he will stop all foreign meddlers which also includes illegals voting.
This is John Brennan leaking to NY times.... Remember this intelligence by Brennan, Clapper and Comey... Rodgers was some what suspect.. probably more fake news than anything.
If the source is admitting he was part of a disinformation campaign, why should we believe anything he says? How can anyone be sure when he is or isn't engaging in disinformation?
