Newt Gingrich on Monday offered rare, scalding criticism of President Trump, demanding that the president explain the comments he made during his controversial press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the conclusion of their talks in Helsinki.
"President Trump must clarify his statements in Helsinki on our intelligence system and Putin," the former House speaker wrote on Twitter. "It is the most serious mistake of his presidency and must be corrected—-immediately."
Trump received widespread scorn on Monday after he said at the media availability that he has yet to see any compelling reason why the Kremlin would have interfered in the 2016 election.
His comments follow special counsel Robert Mueller's indictment in federal court on Friday, which alleged 12 Russian military officials hacked Democratic email servers during the campaign.
Gingrich has been a vocal supporter of Trump, but he has on occasion provided constructive critiques of his performance.
Gingrich chastised Trump in April, claiming his administration had botched the release of Deputy Attorney Rod Rosenstein's memo outlining problems with fired FBI Director James Comey.
Newt is the biggest wuss in politics.
Maybe THIS time, Hannity will finally be done with him.

Has anyone seen the “evidence” of the 12 russians? Was Trump set up by giving that news conference just a few days before the summit? It was not for Trump to jump on putin.. the justice dept could do that.. IF they had any way to do it.... did Trump even see the “evidence”? Did they expect Trump to do their work for them . after all they’ve done to him and his family?
If Newt and the Bushes had done their jobs, the FBI, CIA and DOJ wouldn't be full of the Prog Socialist Rat Swamp Traitors Trump must expose.

The sad thing is, he has been literally destroyed before by this type of tactic.
When the government shut down in the late 90s, Bob Dole undercut him to give Clinton the save. Shortly after that Newt was gone.
He pops off like this at the absolute worst times.

All these calls of treason, meeting with the enemy by meeting with Putin. I would assume then that the meeting with avowed enemy Kim Jom on NK was then even worse as rocket man actually threatened to nuke with video teasers. I can’t recall the last time Putin’s Russia verbally threatened nukes with videos of US cities under a mushroom cloud. Definition of enemy might stand defining for the left.
