Mueller’s Politicized Indictment of Twelve Russian Intelligence Officers
National Review ^ | 16 July 2018 | Andrew C. McCarthy

Posted on 07/16/2018 10:45:09 AM PDT by Meet the New Boss

So, is Russia now presumed innocent of hacking the 2016 election?

If not, it is difficult to understand any proper purpose served by Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s indictment of twelve military officers in the Kremlin’s intelligence services...

Make no mistake: This is nakedly politicized law enforcement. There is absolutely no chance any of the Russian officials charged will ever see the inside of an American courtroom. The indictment is a strictly political document by which the special counsel seeks to justify the existence of his superfluous investigation.

snip

Lacking the requisite basis to conduct a criminal investigation, the Justice Department used its counterintelligence mission as a pretext for appointing a special counsel. This was grossly improper: (1) Counterintelligence work, which is geared at thwarting the operations of hostile foreign powers, is not the prosecutor work of building criminal cases; (2) not surprisingly, then, there is no authority in the regulations to assign a special counsel to a counterintelligence investigation; and (3) because counterintelligence authorities do not afford Americans the due-process protections required in criminal investigations, the Justice Department is not permitted to use counterintelligence as a pretext for conducting what is actually an effort to build a criminal prosecution.

snip

The only point of the new indictment is to justify Rosenstein’s decision and Mueller’s existence...

To be clear, we did need an FBI counterintelligence investigation of Russia’s espionage operation against the 2016 election, and we already had a quite aggressive one before Mueller came on the scene. But we would have needed a special-counsel investigation only if there had been a concrete factual basis to believe the Trump campaign conspired in Russia’s espionage operation against the 2016 election.

There never was.

Not only that, but the investigation, surveillance and leaking against Donald Trump and his campaign was a conspiracy by Obama administration government officials against Donald Trump's civil rights.

These officials attempted to oppress and damage Trump and his campaign's free exercise and enjoyment of his civil rights under the Constitution to seek public office, to exercise free speech and to participate in the political process free of illegal government interference.

The Hillary campaign and the DNC colluded with British ex-spooks and supposed Russian sources to disguise a phony political smear as intelligence reports as part of a conspiracy with officials within the US government to use US government surveillance tools against the Trump campaign.

Also, they used undercover agents to attempt to infiltrate Donald Trump's campaign and entrap campaign workers in order to further contrive a phony pretext for surveillance of the Trump campaign.

They illegally procured the appointment of a Special Counsel to selectively investigate the lives of and prosecute people associated with Donald Trump and his campaign as punishment for their political actions in supporting Trump and to intimidate others from doing so.

Using the illegally procured Special Counsel appointment, they assembled a staff of Democrat operatives and loyalists to use the tools of law enforcement to gather an enormous amount of political intelligence useful to the Democrat Party against Donald Trump, his campaign, individual Republicans associated with his campaign and his presidential transition team.

There was no reason for Rosenstein to rush to the podium and release this information. It was certainly not time sensitive, and actually really meaningless. It was done for the sole purpose of interfering with Presidents Trump’s meeting with Putin. The first thing that Trump should do when returning to America is fire Rosenstein for this act.

Today Putin called Mueller’s bluff by saying he will cooperate with the SP on these indictments.

I've come to believe that the primary purpose of the Rosenstein-Mueller charade is to make it seem like Russia is the only responsible party in all of the pre-election shenanigans in 2016. They feel a need to do this because they fear Americans would be shocked at the breathtaking stupidity of the people who have been running this country for a long time.

I mean -- John Podesta served as a senior advisor to the Clinton administration on matters related to computer privacy and telecommunications security ... and this was the jackass who fell for a Russian phishing scam that compromised the integrity of the U.S. electoral process?

Even if Podesta was a Republican I'd be thankful that the guy failed as a campaign chairman in 2016. An imbecile like that shouldn't be allowed within 500 miles of Washington D.C.

Timing is important.

None of this is hurting President Trump. A case can be made that this entire RUSSIA,RUSSIA, RUSSIA witch hunt is hurting Democrats.

President Trumps core supporters are not going to abandoned him. While the “Trump Hater” are getting more angry each day the President is not impeached.

A win win for the President.

At a joint Trump/Putin presser, Putin was asked whether he would be willing to cooperate with the Mueller investigation and a request for extradition of the 12 intelligence agents Mueller accused of infiltrating and manipulation of the US US election process.

Putin declared that his government would be willing to allow Mueller investigators access to the 12 Russians in exchange for American cooperation in bringing to justice Clinton associates, including Mueller cohorts involved in illegal business transactions that allegedly took place in Russia, involving, according to Putin's statement, over $400 million dollars that was taken out of the Russia illegally.

The left are claiming that there are still US sites run by ruskies trying to hack the midterm elections- They even intimated that gatewaypundit is a distributer of ‘divisive news’

“Russian bots, trolls test waters ahead of US midterms”

“However, Toler said the site could build momentum by creating divisive content that then gets passed to other provocative news aggregators in the U.S. such as InfoWars or Gateway Pundit.”

https://apnews.com/9f85e68cd7764c9080e9edba089a5c16

They don’t say how the ruskies are hacking- long on speculation and short on facts- they make the claim that there is ‘online manipulations ahead of the midterm election’ yet fail to provide evidence

There’s that big lie again, “Podesta...compromised the integrity of the U. S. Electoral process”

1st the process has long been compromised by (D) shenanigans like letting ineligible voters of every stripe - brown black white duplicate and dead pollute the polls

2nd also long compromised by Vote suppression in the form of fake polls fake exit polls MSM cheerleading BLM thugs you name it

Pedoesta may be a pervy Grade A fancy ninny, but the effect of his dumbassery is pretty much a rounding error when it comes to all the reasons people voted for Trump - Mme. Bobblehead convulsing, hacking and wheezing, calling Trump voters deplorables, being tossed like a side o’ beef into a drunk tank on wheels, etc etc had sweet FA to do with her illegal server and were just the tip of the fetid iceberg the USS America steered itself away from

“Trump is afraid to do it.”

Why, do you believe that he is afraid to do it? Rosenstein’s act certainly gives grounds to do it. Trump is a pretty bold guy, just look at his business history. So if he does not fire Rosenstein I wonder what is preventing him from doing so.
