Moscow defense minister inks deals with Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua for joint exercises

Russia agreed to provide military training for three leftist regimes in Latin America and increase military visits and exercises following a visit last week to the region by Moscow’s Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu, Pentagon officials said.
Shoygu met with defense and military leaders in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua and signed several agreements on warship visits and military training during the visit, which ran from Feb. 11 to 14. It is not clear whether any new arms deals were completed during the visit.
Defense officials said the Russian leader is seeking bases in the region for strategic bomber flights that Shoygu recently promised would include flights over the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean.

North Korea nuclear crisis: Putin calls sanctions useless
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said pursuing further sanctions against North Korea is “useless”, saying “they’d rather eat grass than give up their nuclear programme”.
The US said on Monday it would table a new UN resolution on tougher sanctions in the wake of the latest test of a nuclear bomb by the North on Sunday.
Mr Putin also said that the ramping up of “military hysteria” could lead to global catastrophe.
He said diplomacy was the only answer.
China, the North’s main ally, has also called for a return to negotiations. ...”

“To those who would criticize our tough stance, I would point out that the United States has demonstrated—not merely with its words but with its actions—that we stand firmly behind Article 5, the mutual-defense commitment,” Trump said Thursday. “Words are easy, but actions are what matters. IMO Trump should have asked the reporter if he expected Putin to answer in the affirmative and then proceed to demolish him for his political stunt.
Our internal enemies are much more dangerous than any foreign government. The state enemies are watching as American born citizens are doing their damndest to tear this place down.
What gets me is that our internal enemies were born her and live here. Yet they want to destroy the very system they live in and enjoy. Do they think they will not be touched with the wreck this place? Do they have any regard for their future generations?
You’re right. The Dems are insanely rabid over their loss to Trump. They said stock markets around the world would crash when he was elected president. They subsequently claimed people would die when Obamacare was cut back. They said the tax cuts weren’t going to work. They said he was going to start a nuclear war with North Korea. Now they want to shut down ICE, blockade a qualified nominee to the USSC, and start a conflict with Russia.
There’s no end to their hysteria.
This summit was no place to start a rumble with Putin. That would create unnecessary tensions in the world and probably would have crashed stock exchanges here and abroad.
The Left doesn’t want Trump to do anything productive. Every time he does he makes their hero Obama look bad.
Obama’s fake “red line” seriously damaged our credibility and made the world a much more dangerous place. Just saying.
