Washington Examiner ^

Americans have tossed former President Bill Clinton aside and now say that former President Barack Obama was the “best” president of their lifetime -- by a huge gap of 31 percent to 13 percent.

But a new Pew Research Center survey of 2,002 adults found that President Trump topped Obama as the best president of their lifetime at this stage of his presidency.

“Yeah, those broads must be pretty old by now.”

I know one 66 YO. Loved Kennedy. He could do no wrong in her eyes.....Today she only has eyes for Obama. Her Facebook page is covered in Obama photos. Sickening..

Bill Clinton had the Contract With America propping him up. He pretended to hate it, but it was the best thing that ever happened to him.

Sounds like was a general population poll. It kind of shows how vacant our US history education is. Probably 30% of the population said Obama because Obama and Bush were the only Presidents they could name.

President Barack Obama was the “best” president of their lifetime

Based upon what criteria?

To make the “best president” list, one has to have been president. Obama is nowhere on that list, although the usurper ranks just above Buchanan on the list of Oval Office occupants.

We managed to avoid all-out civil war despite the communist’s attempts at destruction, and most of the destructive legacy is being dismantled. I pray that President Trump will leave office in six and a half years with nothing remaining of his predecessor beyond a dismal footnote in history books and a bitter lesson that will be remembered for a long time.

Talk about a false poll.

Since 1951 it has been unconstitutional for a President to serve more than two full terms in office. Taken to its logical ending this would exclude anyone from serving anywhere in the Presidential line of succession; i.e., the Vice President and people that could become Vice President through Presidential Appointment (President Ford).

I wonder who was dumber - the people who designed this fake poll or those who answered it.

Junk poll. It is obviously affected by recency bias. Any adult today would be 18+ and thus lived through the entirety of the Obama and George W. Bush terms and at least some of Clinton's last term. Fewer adults would have lived through all the Clinton terms and the George H.W. Bush term, fewer yet the Reagan terms, fewer yet remember the nightmare of the Carter term, and so on. In fact, given the median age in the U.S. is 37.8 years, half the population was not alive when Carter was President. Because most people don't become politically aware until their teen-age years, this effect is increased.

My mom was born when Herbert Hoover was President as were about 5.5 million other people still alive. How many of them should be included in a poll of 2000 people? About 40. So only 40 could vote for Hoover while all 2,000 could vote for Obama (or Dubya). So the structure of the poll sets up for the most recent to excel.

That’s more an indictment of the Bush Family than anything.

I agree. He actually had a real budget surplus one or possibly two years because of it.

Newt / Congress saved his bacon.

He is recognized as having a more or less fiscally sound presidency. It was not of his doing.
