Red-state Dem tells Schumer to 'kiss my you know what' on Supreme Court vote
The Hill ^ | 07/14/18 | Avery Anapol

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin (W. Va.) had strong words for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (N.Y.) efforts to unify the party against President Trump’s Supreme Court pick.

Manchin suggested to Politico that Schumer does not have any influence over whether or not he supports Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination.

“I’ll be 71 years old in August, you’re going to whip me? Kiss my you know what,” Manchin told Politico, referring to whipping votes among the party caucus.

Schumer has spoken out harshly against Kavanaugh and vowed to oppose him “with everything I’ve got.” Democrats will need at least two GOP votes, in addition to all Democrats, to block the nomination.

But Democrats up for re-election in Trump states are not guaranteed votes against the confirmation, and many have signaled that Schumer’s efforts may not be enough to convince them to vote against the nominee.

“My decision won’t have anything to do with Chuck Schumer,” Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) told Politico. Donnelly, in addition to Manchin and Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.) all voted in support of Neil Gorsuch.

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) told Politico that Schumer “knows better” than to try to pressure her to vote a certain way.

“He doesn’t come to me and say: ‘You’ve got to vote with us on this.’ He knows I’ll tell him to take a flyin’ leap,” she said. “I’m going to do what I think is right. It has nothing to do with the party.”

Durbin did say that, but he is a known idiot and he was only saying what Schumer told him to say. It’s all about the overall plan to fool the people. The get out of jail card to threatened Senators will come from Schumer and Durbin will be told to go to the corner and color.

Deceptive Chest Beating from the Nazis. The day after the election they will be kissing Schumer’s ass.

I hope the electorate doesn’t fall for this stunt.

Republicans generally don’t know how to play hardball, but if they did, they would have at least two members indicate they were going to oppose the nomination right up to the day of the vote. This would put great pressure on the democrats to all vote no in order to have a victory. After all votes are cast, but before the vote is announced, the two republicans could change their vote. The nomination would be confirmed and the swing state democrats would be on the hook for opposing him.

I don’t see it that way. Few, if any, votes will be gained by Rats voting to confirm, where many will be lost by voting not to. He is stuck. And Trump hasn’t even started campaigning in the Ohio, Pennsylvania, WV nexus.

And, longer term, why would Schumer want to see the Democrats lose Senate seats, in a losing cause against Supreme Court nominees??

It's about perception.

President Trump is winning at every turn. Most importantly, he clearly enjoys winning, makes no apologies for winning, and makes winning fun!

Meanwhile, Democrats, angry and unhinged, are growing depressed. When they roll over for Kavanaugh, they will further demoralize their base while Trump increases his momentum as a victor, picking up independents who want to be part of a winning team.

It is quite a bind.

Translation=.....They know the Republicans have the votes so the party bosses gave permission to Red State Dems to support him, in order to keep their seats in November.

Chuckie cant stop it and then his looney left fringe is going to hold him responsible. Love it!

><

Kamala Harris will probably chew him up. She’ll want his position in the Senate if she doesn’t run for POTUS in 2020.

The crazier they get the more that normal people see their ugly true colors and don’t like what they see.

I think dem opposition to Kavanaugh is going to crumble a bit. Democrats don’t know what hill to fight on.
They just invent retarded cause after retarded cause.
They rely on drone voter after drone voter and want to bring in more drones.
This is the zombie Apocalypse, it’s on. Over here.

8-10 months ago the Rats were counting on hatred of Trump to bring them power. But the funny thing about hatred is that it brings a backlash and hundreds of thousands of moderate Democrats have realized that their party has left them and Antifa is the new face of the DemocRat party.

“she said. “I’m going to do what I think is right. It has nothing to do with the party.””

translation from polispeak into peoplespeak: “I’m in the fight of my political life, and I’ll do whatever and vote however to survive, no matter what ...”

one of the very few times a Dem is telling the truth ...

Someone should make a list of the names of these “strong independent minds”, and what percentage of the time they vote with Chuckie. I’m betting it’s over 85% each.
