That’s going to leave a mark, even if the courts strike them down.
Especially if the courts strike them down.
Oregon Ping.
American citizens have been clamoring for enforcement for decades, but BOTH parties have been determined to keep the borders open and the laws unenforced.
It will pass and the courts will overturn it.
“would ever repeal the states oldest-in-the-nation sanctuary law”
If there was ever an unconstitutional law, this one is it.
How can a state stick its tongue out at the FedGov and say we refuse to cooperate?
The Leftist SCOTUS has told us over and over that federal supremacy is well...supreme.
And in any event, sanctuary laws violate the 14th amendment since they discriminate against citizens in favor of illegal aliens: citizens are liable to prosecution for all violations of law (ask Gen. Flynn) no matter how trivial, while blanket exceptions are provided by the States to non-citizens for a laundry list of violations?
What about “Equal Protection of the Laws”?
Guess we ain’t so “similarly situated”.

Ive been told ... Eastern Oregoners possess very a different value set than do Western Oregoners.
I would be interested in knowing what geography produced the 110k signatures.

Some stinkin commie judge will strike down any law passed by the people who as the majority never wanted this unbridaled illegal invasion. There is only one way that the illegal problem will ever be solved is when the real American people THEMSELVES rise up and defend the border.
If it gets to the ballot, the legislature will make sure the text on the ballot sounds ominous and mean. Plus it will say the opposite of what the bill proposes.
Oregon people dont want anybody coming to Oregon, legal or illegal. I think most would crowd fund a sign at the border that says Keep Out!
564 states? Wow! When did that happen?
There are only 22,000 extra signatures, and after watching many of these Anti-Establishment initiatives, that may not be enough to get by the gate-keeping swamp dwellers and make it to the ballot.
