A woman was found dead inside the trash compactor of a swanky Union Square apartment building on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
Cops and paramedics responded to Zeckendorf Towers at 1 Irving Place at 4:55 p.m. and “discovered a 48-year-old female unconscious and unresponsive inside a trash compactor,” according to an NYPD statement.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.

No, if that was the case, she would have committed suicide by shooting herself in the back of the head, and then she would have jumped in the chute.
I have a buddy that has a very similar last name. His is Ukrainian heritage.
NBC reports her purse, full of cash, was found nearby, however according to the Daily Mail, neighbors told police they assumed their visit was related to Anthony Weiner’s conviction.
Security footage also shows the woman walking into Abedin and Weiner’s apartment building shortly before she was found inside the trash compactor, PIX11 reported.
