As of Dec. 31, Kavanaugh had between $15,001 and $50,000 in an interest-bearing Bank of America BAC, +0.04% account, and less than $15,000 in Vanguard funds within a 401(k) plan offered by the Employee Retirement System of Texas, according to his financial disclosure form.
He has fully paid off a loan from a thrift savings plan, as well as a credit-card account from JPM, -0.62% that appeared in a previous disclosure plan.
Not every Supreme Court justice has such a bland portfolio. According to watchdog group Fix The Court, Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Stephen Breyer and Samuel Alito owned shares in 44 companies at the end of 2017. The justices also make money from teaching and book royalties.

I wonder what happened to his finances.....that’s pretty thin reserves for a 53 year old with a wife and two children. Perhaps everything is in his wife’s name?
Maybe he owns a boat or restored an old muscle car?
I like him even better - maybe he’s laying up his treasures in Heaven...
His home isn’t listed. Our greatest asset is our home. Hubby is same age, our income has went to paying it off. Also we don’t deduct our donations.
I just assumed he owned his home. Hopefully there’s a neat little pile in his wife’s name.
Gotcha lol
Ah yes, the hole in the water into which money is thrown
Gee, I guess I could be a SC judge now too!!
I can hear the dems now, “he can be swayed with money”.
He is a catholic, I am sure he gives generously.

Now that’s funny!
I'm roughly the same age as him and I'm also married with two children. I would be very nervous if I only had $15K in my retirement account. It's in fact very close to seven figures and I worry sometimes that even that is not going to be enough.
But, I think he'll be fine. There's a lot of perks to being a Supreme Court justice than just salary.
!!!!
He writes for MarketWatch so it’s not surprising that he’d be interested in financial matters, including personal finance. This was certainly a topic for the Left in sniping about how rich Betsy DeVos and Wilbur Ross are.
