Former Trump Chauffer Sues for Overtime

MANHATTAN (CN) – A New Yorker who had been President Donald Trump’s personal driver for 20 years claims in court that the “purported” billionaire stiffed him on overtime.

Represented by the firm Davidoff Hutcher & Citron, the July 9 suit in Manhattan Supreme Court demands compensation for six years of service under the applicable statute of limitations.

The driver, Noel Cintron says he “was forced to work thousands of hours of overtime without compensation” before Secret Service took over the job of ferrying President Trump. Cintron no longer drives the president but his service to the Trump Organization allegedly continues as a member of its security staff.

For the last eight years, according to the complaint, Cintron has been earning $75,000 a year. This is up $7,000 from Cintron’s last raise in 2006, but the driver disputes that the 2010 salary was actually a raise since it came at the expense of his health insurance. By paying Cintron a little more, the Trump Organization allegedly saved itself $17,866.08 per year in premiums.

The first page of Cintron’s 14-page lawsuit is rife with indignation. “In an utterly callous display of unwarranted privilege and entitlement and without even a minimal sense of noblesse oblige President Donald Trump has, through the defendant entities, exploited and denied significant wages to his own longstanding personal driver,” it states.

Later the complaint says: “President Trump’s further callousness and cupidity is further demonstrated by the fact that while he is purportedly a billionaire, he has not given his personal driver a meaningful raise in over 12 years!”

This story is developing…

Lookup the legal concept of “laches.”

Also “perjury.”

Not a “time-clock” position where hours are counted to determine the paycheck. Similar to IT jobs where sometimes you have to work overtime but you don’t get extra pay for it. This is what you agree to when to take on a salaried position. (Me, since 1991)

And how much is this driver being paid to file this law suit? Leftist money is being spread around the world to anyone who can be induced to attack Trump.

Did you ever ask for a raise, or make sure there were salary increase clauses in the contract(s) you signed? Moron.

My first thoughts exactly. After 20 years, my BS meter just pegged to 100% BS. Check this clowns bank transactions and see how much $$$’s he has deposited lately or has he bought any big ticket item lately including real estate.

Wow, $75,000 a year for sitting around doing nothing most of the time and nothing all the time his boss was out of town. I also remember reading Trump enjoyed driving himself. Sounds like a great gig to me.

The guy agreed to work under those conditions.

If he didn’t want the job, I’m quite sure someone else would have been thrilled to have the job.

Sounds like he had a pretty decent salary.

Correct, if he was a salaried employee than it’s on him for negotiating a better contract over the years. Why didn’t he resign years ago if he was so unhappy? If in fact he was not required to anything beyond his normal duties than this guy’s got bupkis.

Hey, think I have a case? Just about every merit increase I've had in the last 10 years has been offset by a near-matching increase in insurance premiums.

I once had this discussion with my boss.

Me: I want a promotion

Boss: You will lose your time and a half overtime.

Me: The projects are not authorizing overtime and a promotion would allow me a bonus.

I was promoted and worked additional hours but also made more money.
