Sacha Baron Cohen teases project with Dick Cheney signing 'waterboard kit'

Actor Sacha Baron Cohen this week released a teaser for a project featuring former Vice President Dick Cheney signing a “waterboard kit.”

The 22-second trailer opens with the text: “Imagine if Sacha Baron Cohen had been undercover secretly filming a new show for a year.”

The video then plays a montage of scenes before cutting to Cheney (R) appearing to sign “a waterboard kit” after someone off-camera asked him to do so.

“That’s the first time I’ve ever signed a waterboard,” Cheney says.

The trailer come a week after the star of the 2006 film “Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan” released a teaser hinting at a possible project targeting President Trump and Trump University.

That 37-second video was also released on Twitter, and it portrayed as a Fourth of July message from the president that featured previous footage of Trump criticizing Baron Cohen.

According to Variety, the actor has a longstanding feud with the president, stemming from the comedian's "Da Ali G Show."

Trump said in 2012 that he “immediately” walked out of the interview on “Da Ali G Show” because he knew it was a trick.

“I never fall for scams,” Trump said on Twitter at the time. “I am the only person who immediately walked out of my ‘Ali G’ interview.”

Baron Cohen said in 2016 that Trump participated in the interview longer than most guests.

Was Cheney contacted directly for this 'interview' or did someone in his staff agree to this 'interview'?

Who thinks Cheney wasn’t talking about a wakeboard or a boogie board?? Fake news.......Sacha Baron Cohen jumped the shark along time ago. I suspect Cheney wasn’t aware there was any connection to Cohen and was asked to sign a ‘waterboard’ for someone else.

All humor needs to be taken lightly (Don Rickles wasn’t actually insulting anyone: he just said funny stuff and pretended to direct it at one person or another).

But Sacha Baron Cohen seems to have a fundamentally dishonest type of humor. He seeks to embarrass or humiliate people by pulling practical jokes on them (while they act in good faith and often kindness toward him). It’s just nasty and (to me) the opposite of what humor should be.

The scene in that first movie he made of him and his manager wrestling nude was cringeworthy. I thought the movie was funny, but I couldn’t watch that.

I agree which is why I'm questioning how this interview was arraigned.

If Cheney was contacted directly by SBC and he agreed, it was foolish of him to not do any research into who SBC was.

Did the people who contacted Cheney lie to Cheney about the interview?

If Cheney has a personal assistant who agreed to the interview without researching SBC he/she should be fired.

I kind of agree with you, but some of this guy's "interviews" are absolutely hilarious. The ones that come off best are the ones where his target has a good sense of humor and isn't shy about playing along.

Ali G Interviews Buzz Aldrin

I crack up even at the thought of him asking Aldrin if he was ever jealous because "Louis Armstrong" will always be remembered as the first man to walk on the moon. LMAO.

I hope Cheney KNEW and did it anyway, because who cares? He has rightly defended waterboarding against imbeciles like McCain who falsely claim it is torture. Every SEAL has to undergo waterboarding. As Cheney said recently, it is “an essential tool” in interrogations.

Apparently he's had a string of failed movies and he's no long bankable in films.

This looks like an attempt to rebuild his career.

I wouldn’t mind having one of those kits.

Hell, I could probably make good money using one on paying customers if I started a dungeon in SF

He was always a loser to me - mean-spirited, ugly and not very talented. Christopher Hitchens took him apart years ago.

I remember the Ali G show with Trump, precisely BECAUSE he walked off.

I was frankly stunned at how many conservatives were so square and stupid, that they sat there and patiently answered this guys questions.

What is it about right-leaning people that makes them SO uncool?

They should have googled Ali G, or one of their staffers should have been aware of this character.
