Republicans Look to Compromise The Supreme Court, Avoid Controversy in Election Year
Freedom Outpost ^ | July 8, 2018 | Dean Garrison

Posted on 07/08/2018 3:32:58 PM PDT by Cheerio

In recent days, there has been a strong media push for Raymond Kethledge to be Trump’s choice to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy.

Judge Kethledge is currently a Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He was nominated by George W. Bush in 2007 and confirmed a year later.

The Sixth Circuit has a reputation for not only being too liberal, but being so liberal that they are reversed more often than any other court. According to Mark Walsh of ABA Journal:

Conservatives decry the 9th Circuit’s perceived liberal bent. As candidates for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, Newt Gingrich practically recommended abolishing the circuit, while Rick Santorum suggested that its judges be banished to Guam.

But more recently, another federal circuit has reigned as the most reversed. The 6th Circuit, based in Cincinnati, has had a particularly dismal record before the high court. In the seven Supreme Court terms completed since the fall of 2005, the 6th Circuit has been reversed 31 out of 38 times, for an 81.6 percent reversal rate, based on figures compiled by two Philadelphia lawyers. That leads all the federal circuits for that time period, with the 9th Circuit coming in as the second most reversed—100 out of 128 cases, or 78.1 percent.

The GOPe is eager to sell out conservatives every second of every minute of every hour of every day of every year.

Claiming that they want to avoid controversy due to pending elections is a cheap excuse.

Don’t buy it.

We waited for 8 long years to make a positive impact on the Court. If the left was so interested in keeping the Court liberal maybe they should have appealed to Ginsburg and Kagan to retire earlier.

“Should the Repubs try it, they will reap the consequences.”

What? We stay home and elect Democrats? Primarying them out? Not much success with that so far.

Everyday I despise them more and more.

Yep, and just when you think you've plumbed the depths of disgust . . . !

The more and more they sell Judge Kethledge the less and less I’m liking him. Sounds like a Kennedy swing vote candidate. Trump would do well to stay away from him. Pay attention to the WaPo and NYT who’ve had favorable things to say. It’s either cause he’s no good for conservatives or too good and they’re trying to sabotage them with their endorsements — either way it will be clear soon enough.

This is getting ridiculous. Every one of the front-runners has been denounced as a swampy RINO by one clickbait article or another, causing a bunch of Freepers to claim that the sky is falling. FR is turning into an anncoulteric chamber. I trust Trump on this one.

Dude, this is nothing but fan fiction from some blogger looking for “outrage clicks”.

Post “Republicans Look to Compromise The Supreme Court, Avoid Controversy in Election Year”, fill it with speculation and hearsay, wait for hair-trigger conservatives to fly off the handle.

Sit back and wait for the ad revenue.

Did the left ‘reach across the isle’ when they nominated the latina? or any other blatant liberal SC judge? Nope!

So who is Dean Garrison, and why should we believe what he writes? Because it’s called “Freedom Outpost”? Serious question.

IO hope Trump turns the tables on these scum buckets and picks their worst nightmare, a young nightmare that will haunt them for years to come

The only things one should “reach across the aisle” for is to spray disinfectant or to hand some one a subpoena.

The “No Wall”, my friend, is not because of Democrats when the Repubs are the majority in both houses and a President that will sign it. It’s the Pubbies who are screwing the pooch.

Pubbies want to compromise, right on schedule.

Pulling defeat out of the jaws of victory on a regular basis.

Liberals were falling all over themselves decrying the timing for Justice Kennedy’s retirement….I’m not so sure that the Democrats weren’t looking ahead at the midterms with a fair degree of anxiety and thinking “if Kennedy retires after the midterms, we won’t be in near as good a position as we are right now…. better just go for it rather than wait.”

You might want to wait a day before wasting any bytes on what smells like clickbait crap.
