Sen. Richard Blumenthal says President Trump has become the “puppet” of outside conservative groups in the selection of the next U.S. Supreme Court justice.
“The president’s outsourced this decision to the Federalist Society and the Heritage Foundation,” Mr. Blumenthal said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.” “It is extraordinary. I was a law clerk to Justice Blackmon. I’ve argued cases before the Supreme Court—four of them. I’ve never seen a president of the United States in effect make himself a puppet of outside groups and choose from a group of right-wing fringe ideologues that are prepared on this list.”

whatever. and if Trump didn’t seek outside advice about this matter, they’d attack him for not seeking outside advice ...

And leftwing Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was once president of the ACLU - there’s outsourcing, and then there’s outsourcing......
Is this the same Blumenthal who lied repeatedly about his military service to get elected? What a skunk!
Actually what I saw was that Trump specifically requested Heritage types to do the grunt work checking out 25 candidates.
Trump assked the most capable and knowledgeable people to do this most important job.
There were no BLM ot NAACP or Queallowed to be part of the group.
Princess Gray Beaver was also not asked
and what’s worse....... he’s a lawyer

Two words that just don’t belong in the same sentence are Trump and puppet. I stop reading as soon as I see Trump referred as a puppet.

Just curious; why not the Heritage Foundation? Are they too GOPe or RINO like? If so; it could give Trump an idea on who not to pick.

Heritage designed the prototype for Obamacare.
Federalist is somewhat farther right because many of the lawyers are business lawyers, but basically the thrust of the Federalist Society is Constitutional, which really should be neither left nor right but unfortunately today it is right-wing to love the Constitution compared with the other side.
