Milwaukee police are looking for a man involved in an attack at a Milwaukee restaurant.
The man punched the manager in the face and went after a waitress until she pulled a gun on him.
The incident was caught on surveillance video.
Everything happened pretty fast at a George Webb restaurant.
The manager at the grill that night said the customer was shouting at the waitress.
She told him to get out, and surveillance video shows the man viciously punch her in the face. He then he goes after the waitress.
The woman pulled out a handgun from her apron and only then did he retreat, still shouting at them as he left.

Both the manager and Donovan say the waitress had a concealed carry permit and was allowed to carry the gun at work.

Sorry, that's wrong. We're trained for center mass. Your information is not correct. In a case such as this, especially with video, there's no question about a justified shoot.
Center mass. It's the only thing that stops the threat. If you were shot in the kneecap, your mobility might be hmpered...unless you were doing some exotic and common drugs. In that case, you're unstoppable. Center mass will stop you.
You've obviously never been involved in a shooting, nor have you ever had firearms training, particularly not IPSC or other reactive shooting against the clock (the closest thing to the real deal).
One shoots to stop, not to kill or to wound. Center of mass, always.
When the panic's on, a misguided attempt to "wing" somebody will likely result in your death or serious injury. When you miss (as is highly likely) the perp will do his level best to kill you and may well succeed.
Sadly we all have only a few seconds out of the blue, unprepared, to make important legal decisions. The TV talk show panels set up a discussion after days or weeks of research on laws and alternatives the person might have taken and all that.
That carjacked woman with her kids still in the car was able to shoot the face of the attacker after she grabbed her gun,2-3 days ago. Now people can analyze it all and wonder about alternatives. She had a few seconds and her children’s lives at stake. She didn’t ask the carjacker about his unhappy childhood or if he needed counseling.
Yep. Gun control laws make women in particular much more vulnerable. Most women have little chance in a physical confrontation with most men. If she has a gun though, the equation changes. How can anybody say they’re in favor of women’s rights or empowerment or whatever and then favor gun control?
Oh and a far as kneecaps.....no. You don’t shoot to wound. In many situations you don’t have the time/control to be able to do that. If you have to shoot, you aim for center mass to stop the attacker.
My weapon isn’t coming out unless I’m shooting. Once that happens, it will be:

The hip or femoral artery might have worked well enough but not the knee. He could have killed a woman by punching her in the head. So the defense should be perfect, especially with video evidence showing that he was advancing against the second woman after punching the first. Might be a good idea to let the judge decide instead of taking a chance on a metropolitan jury, though.
Yes, chest and head. Maybe even the hip area first in a close, dark fast situation. Many violent criminals wear heavy coats in winter, and a few even wear protective vests when attempting to attack.

No audio on the video and no mention in the written news report or on-camera dialogue. The way the criminal was behaving, menacing movements and talking back, even with a gun pointed at him, suggests he was uttering threats towards the waitress and her manager. Given that it is Milwaukee, unlikely he would be charged for making threats (in addition to the assault and battery).
No matter. A man with a temper like that probably will be dead much sooner than later. Hopefully, the deed will be done another criminal so that a CCW citizen or a police office doesn’t have to endure a gauntlet of second guessing and slander that follows a self-defense shooting these days.
