Giuliani: Mueller must show evidence of crime before Trump agrees to interview
CNN via KCRA Sacramento ^ | July 7th, 2018 | Eli Watkins

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump's legal team demanded that before the president agrees to an interview, the special counsel's team must prove it has evidence of Trump committing a crime and that it needs testimony from the president to conclude its probe, The New York Times reported Friday.

According to the Times, Trump's legal team set its new conditions on Friday with the special counsel team led by former FBI Director Robert Mueller. The demands mark further reason to believe the president will not submit voluntarily to an interview with the special counsel.

The Times account painted a picture of Trump's legal team as increasingly willing to combat the Mueller investigation while seeking to influence public opinion.

Rudy Giuliani told the Times that Mueller probably would not agree to these conditions. He conceded it was still possible the president would agree to an interview and continued to question the objectivity of the investigators.

"If they can come to us and show us the basis and that it's legitimate and that they have uncovered something, we can go from there and assess their objectivity," Giuliani said.

The same report said Trump's lawyers had contested a request from the special counsel team to interview White House chief of staff John Kelly, with White House lawyer Emmet Flood seeking to learn what investigators plan to ask and to narrow the topics of an interview.

“The demands mark further reason to believe the president will not submit voluntarily to an interview with the special counsel.”

meaning that the NYT is admitting it knows damn good and well that Trump has committed no crime and therefore it’s impossible for Mueller to meet the requirements to interview Trump ...

The Donald should ask his friend to stay home and be quiet.

I think Giuliani is dragging Muller through the mud face down first.

Haven’t you figured it out by now Mueller don’t need no stinking evidence ,LOL

I wonder if they’ve considered locking Trump up in solitary confinement somewhere, without lawyers and some really serious charge like “possible consideration of obstructing justice by using the phrase ‘witch hunt’ to describe the utterly respectable and very special prosecutor.”

After all, it would be easy enough to find some unknown leftist idiot judge in Hawaii to back them up.

Okay. I’m being facetious - but I’m really getting sick of waiting for the Mueller !@(*-storm to hit. One way or another, this WILL end - either they’ll try and pull off some kind of coup, or Trump will be forced to fire the lot of them and have the corrupt girly-men in Congress curled up in fetal positions, whimpering about the “loss of democracy and fair process!” or some such BS.

They forced him into recusing himself. Like it or not, Rosenstein was next in line....and after hearing Rosenstein....therein may lie the "insurance policy".....getting the right person to do the dirty work.

Don't forget, Rosenstein signed off on 2 Fisa reports...reports which he did not read...cuz that's not what he does. So he said.

At the rate Mueller is going, everybody that ever worked for the Trump campaign, and later in the administration, and anytime in Trump’s past, will be under investigation or be called in for questioning. That means that, Mueller will have a very long career as a Trump investigator, even way after Trump dies. Mueller himself will be long dead before the Trump investigations are concluded, but, liberals will insist that they continue for eternity, because... well... it’s all about Trump winning an election that Hillary was rightfully expected to win.

>>I don’t think Rudy has been at all effective as a legal defender of Trump.<<

Rudy is way past his prime and actually could turn out to be a dangerous liability. A much better choice for Trump’s defense counsel would have been Joe diGenova.

>>Sidney Powell’s book, “License to Lie” tells how the US justice system is seriously intrenched with corrupt individuals throughout the ranks of law enforcement as well as in the Senate, the House and the White House. IMHO, accordingly, there is no hope to fix it, the depth of corruption is deep and wide. Lawyers and lawyers turned politicians really do make the most ruthless of criminals.<<

IMHO every word of your statement is unequivocally TRUE.

>>This whole filthy train wreck stems from the most worthless attorney general in world history recusing himself.<<

Nothing could be more obvious, and everyone with a normally functioning brain has been saying as much from the day he announced his recusal and slithered into hibernation.

Okay all you Sessions cheerleaders, have at it!

Mueller wants Trump on a process crime, it is the only chance Muller has. So no interview and let the people decide.

“Why would President Trump agree to an interview with Mueller AT ALL?”

He never will. It will never happen.

But, why say no when you can leave them hanging? They might even commit another crime.

And, while you’re at it, Rudy, why don’t you share with Mueller the ample evidence of Mueller’s crimes? And tell him to stuff it.
