This is the land of opportunity, and anyone who wants the come here can…legally. That’s not the issue. For the Trump White House, it’s been their stated position to shift our immigration policy toward allowing more high-skilled workers into this country.
As for the families of the low-skilled working immigration population in the country, 51 percent (76 percent counting immigrant-led households with children) are collecting some sort of check from our welfare services. Is that good? No. Does that mean we shut it all down? No. That figure comes from the Center for Immigration Studies, who noted the need for the immigration process to be more “selective.” At the same time, there are a lot of American households with children that are also getting some form of government assistance (via USA Today):
About 51% of immigrant-led households receive at least one kind of welfare benefit, including Medicaid, food stamps, school lunches and housing assistance, compared to 30% for native-led households, according to the report from the Center for Immigration Studies, a group that advocates for lower levels of immigration.
Those numbers increase for households with children, with 76% of immigrant-led households receiving welfare, compared to 52% for the native-born.
The findings are sure to fuel debate on the presidential campaign trail as Republican candidates focus on changing the nation's immigration laws, from calls for mass deportations to ending birthright citizenship..

As i stated earlier- many illegals and legal immigrants are getting $45,000 per year from the government after all the programs are factored in- not a bad living for doing nothing but being a foreigner- no wonder they flock here- Free money- all they have to do is sit in gubmint housing on their porches, smoking, drinking all day- have a bunch of kids, and bingo- raking in the big bucks

And make it retroactive for 20 years. Tell them they have to pay it all back or leave. The only reason they come here is to pop out a citizen under some f*cked up, never challenged interpretation of the 14th Amendment. Once that citizen is born, they get all the bennies and that anchor allows the family to stay and bring the rest of the posse over.
Now, throw in all the money that the muslim refugees are banking in Dearborn. One guy, with 4 wives, 4 checks coming into the house and not one person works. Only in America.
It is unlawful to for them to collect. However, when they have a kid here, that kid is given citizenship. And once the are citizens they start collecting. Not the parents. Hence the term, Anchor Baby. The parents get to stay w/ the kid.
The kid then gets SEction 8 housing, WIC, SNAP and help with utilities. Parents then go and get obama phones, when they were handing them out and put a DishNetwork satellite dish, everywhere so they can watch tv in their own language and you, me and everyone else subsidizes those programs when we pay our cable or satellite bill.
Woman pops out another one. More money. Husband gets an under the table job as landscaper. And then the entire family comes over under family reunification. All while destroying, once, very nice neighborhoods.
When I immigrated here in 1971 I swore an oath and signed a document that I would not apply for any type of gov assistance or I would be deported...
I had to prove that I had at least $US1,000 to support myself until I could work or for the US gov to use to buy me that deportation plane ticket...
Don’t forget the term “native born” includes children born here no matter the status of their parents. The children of illegal immigrants born here are considered “native born” so are children of legal immigrants, and people who manage to visit here from other countries just to have their babies here also have “native born” children.
We really need to stop giving citizenship just for being born here, that is ridiculous.
We do have far too many citizens on social services, my thinking about that is if we didn’t have illegals overwhelming the system we could pay more attention to our own people who may need encouragement to get off the programs.

Way too many of them come for this purpose. You can’t have open borders and a welfare state. (The best is to have neither, but you can function with one or the other.)
It is against the law now for those here illegally to get on welfare! The left loves to use that to say the illegals aren’t on programs because it is against the law.
The most common way they do it is to have citizen children just by being born here, the children are eligible for all the programs. When determination of need is figured it is based on all people in the house...at that point the children will receive more benefits based on the others in the house.
SCAM on the taxpayers! We have to get them out to keep them off welfare.
