Robert Costa, a Washington Post political reporter and NBC News political analyst, tweeted Thursday: "When I asked a prominent Trump ally about Sen. Lee/ SCOTUS, they said this article is floating around the WH, as evidence that he's a long shot."
Costa included a link to an Associated Press story about Lee casting a "protest" vote in the 2016 presidential election for independent candidate Evan McMullin.

Just a phone call, which was NOT an “interview”, but which Lee and Teddykins and who knows who else put out there as “fact” when it was a DAMNED LIE!
I suspect Trump only “considered” Lee to yank his chain and show him up for the phony he is. Just like when he “considered” Mitt for SecState, and even interviewed him twice.

0. Mike Lee was very ugly to Trump during election time and brags he didn’t vote for Trump. He seems quite flattered to have a chance and should have minded his manners a couple of years ago when he had a chance.
