I think it was Mark Simone on twitter today who said that Ed Schultz never really was on the left, he was just playing a role.

Could be. But he wasn't a conservative either.

Maybe he was an old-time Democrat who recognized that people had to come across as more stridently opinionated than they actually might be in order to have careers as a media commentator.

Ed was too inconsequential to get angry about. Those who have to hate somebody would do well to focus on somebody more substantial and worth getting enraged at.

Maybe because he left MSNBC only a few months into the campaign but I don’t think Ed was ever unfair to Trump ?? The only thing I remember him saying was that he would be the best candidate for job creation.

Ed was a good broadcaster. Talented enough to make a lot of money doing it. I don’t think he was a bad guy. Just a broadcaster who found a niche. Never thought he was an effective lefty. But fun to watch his hystrionics.

RIP.

“Ed was too inconsequential to get angry about.”

Kinda what I figured. The only time I’d run across him was here on FR when people would mention him. AFAIK he was never carried on radio here in SoCal.

We in Wisconsin remember Ed broadcasting from Madison during the days of Scot Walker’s successful beat down of the public employee unions. Asshole.

To quote the Church Lady: Isn’t it just special that he didn’t die when he was, say, only twenty?”

Looking at Schultz, it appears he was very fond of eating roles.
