London Mayor Sadiq Khan will allow protesters to fly over Parliament a blimp that portrays Donald Trump as an orange, snarling baby during the U.S. president's upcoming visit, Khan's office said on Thursday.
Trump, who arrives in a week, will meet Queen Elizabeth and Prime Minister Theresa May, who was the first foreign leader to visit him after his inauguration last year.
Britain regards its close ties with the United States, which it calls the special relationship, as a pillar of its foreign policy as it prepares to leave the European Union.
But some Britons see Trump as crude, volatile and opposed to their values on a range of issues. Trump's comments on militant attacks in Britain have sparked anger and he has often exchanged barbs on social media with the London mayor. 'Right to peaceful protest'
"The mayor supports the right to peaceful protest and understands that this can take many different forms," a spokesperson for Khan said. "His city operations team have met with the organizers and have given them permission to use Parliament Square Garden as a grounding point for the blimp."
The spokesperson added, however, that the protesters would also need permission from the police and air traffic services to fly the six-metre balloon.
The protesters, who describe themselves as a group of anti-fascist art activists, said at first the mayor's office did not recognize Trump Baby as a legitimate protest.

The US needs to invade the UK and liberate the people.
All we can say is if the government of Lodon and the UK was very Conservative and very opposed to the Marxist policies of Obama from 2008-2012, you still would never have seen a comic caricature of Obama flying over London as he visited there. The Left only preaches civility when it is dominant, while most Conservatives practice civility most of the time, whether in the majority or not.
How is Trump different? He saw that Liberals always take Conservatives as turn-the-other-cheeek chumps and he is not a chump. That is why the Left heates him so much. He refuses to turn the other cheek to their incivlity.
