Trump to rescind race guidelines in college admissions, WSJ reports

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Trump administration plans to revoke guidelines that encourage considering race in the college admissions process as a way of promoting diversity, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.

The guidelines, put in place in the Obama administration in 2011 and 2016, put forth legal recommendations that Trump officials contend “mislead schools to believe that legal forms of affirmative action are simpler to achieve than the law allows,” the Journal reported, citing two people familiar with the plans.

Trump administration officials plan to argue the guidelines go beyond what the Supreme Court has decided on the issue.

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled universities may use affirmative action to help minority applicants get into college. Conservatives have said such programs can hurt white people and Asian-Americans.

The Justice Department under Republican President Donald Trump has been investigating a complaint by more than 60 Asian-American organizations that say Harvard University’s policies are discriminatory because they limit the acceptance of Asian-Americans.

This could seriously hamper future low IQ types like Mad Maxine and 0bama from achieving positions they were never qualified for.

“affirmative action” was a way to keep the top Universities from being “oversubscribed” with Jews in the East, Asians in the West.”

If Jews and Asians are the only ones with the smarts and ethics to succeed, so be it. Somehow, I doubt that is the case. More like strict encouragement and development of early childhood habits.

Great! I hope he takes a look at hospitals next because they have all kinds of programs as incentives to give breaks to illegals.

“....The same goes on in corporate HR management discussions daily.
“This position is slated minority female.”...”

Yep. Seen it with my own eyes many times throughout my career.
Then, once in the position, they can’t perform because they’re otherwise unqualified to actually do the job, and corporate HR pretty much forces the one most qualified, that should have gotten the position to begin with, to “train” them. I’ve seen in a few instances where the most qualified had to actually perform the day-to-day job requirements to keep the division from failing, and the unqualified one in the position could care less about “learning to do the job” and essentially become just a “quota employee” but paid the big salary. Meanwhile, the person actually doing the job gets nothing for it...no recognition/no raise/no anything. I’ve seen qualified people totally disgusted with it and request transfer to another division to start over, but most of em just outright resign in disgust. They move on to a competitor or start over in a totally different venue. Yeah, it totally sucks.

EEOC and other “mandates” go back to then I started in the workforce in the 70’s, and they rolled back into the Edutocracy soon after

Consider this, States mandate in their constitution that Education is given to the “public schools”. SO to me as a logical guy it means that they are required to educate all individuals to a level of competency as measured by exams when their time has run it’s course, 12th grade or 18 years of age. The joke is when you look at the correlation of “graduates” and competency I see an alarming and to me disgusting statistic that “65% or more cannot read and write”

And they graduated High School!

Something wrong with this picture? And so to cover it up and make sure those folks can go somewhere they devise preferences, in reality social engineering which is a classic progressive tactic. The same goes for Education, I have read many stories of folks who utilized this path and were blown away at how ill prepared they were to enter a college but the we cannot blame all those Union protected employees in the school system, they did their “best”

But at 18 the money runs out and HS is no longer an option, and if you hire one with the right “attributes” a government policy says is essence you cannot fire them for incompetence as it is racist or sexist and they will help them sue you!

Circle back, these protected “learning institutions” failed to do their job per the states laws and No One calls them out on it, and because they are unionized the process to remove them is tedious and arduous, designed to be so. Want to form an alternative school? The funds have to flow through the existing system in most cases and they may require that the teachers be Union employees

Competence is King, there no other way and I speak from experience gained over decades. I do not care in a hiring decision race or gender, at least in my field of endeavor just who is the best for the role

Great to see the first stumbling block may be removed and shine a light on how we got there

I can’t wait to see the left try to pile on Asian Americans as “racist”. But more likely, they’ll just ignore the fact that Asian Americans brought the suit and revert to their mantra of “evil racist whites” (especially males).

If President Trump is “sowing division”, it’s of a good kind-making the left eat itself.

And municipal positions across the country, which then results in only hiring other minorities. It’s rampant. It has become a family, generational thing, with full bennies, retirement, the works.

Well it has succeeded in lowering the numbers of white males who met, or more than met, the academic standards, attending college. They are replaced with those who had to have the standards lowered just so they can pass such courses as “The intersectionality of homosexual/other-gendered midgets/vertically challenged humans” (but wait, that’s speciest!)

And if the AA students can’t spell any of that (or write it in cursive), that’s not the point anyway.

Visualize a smart, motivated, working-class-background white guy who started out saving money for college by banging out dents in his father's auto-body shop. Military combat veteran, went to a top State University, got top grades, then did grunt-level law work for a legal-aid-for-the disadvantaged type organization.

He worked his way up and was slated (everyone thought) to become the director. You can guess the rest. They gave to job to a snazzily-dressed black woman who passed the bar exam like one month previously, and he was supposed to train her and then be her assistant.

He quit.

And signed up with the U.S. Navy JAG Corps to pay off his school loans and his father's debts.

I just --- wow, I shake my head.

“...Its helped hundred of thousands of unqualified blacks in Maryland and Virginia to get six figure jobs with the Federal Government....”

Not just Maryland and Virginia, but nationwide.....and not just the Federal Govt either. It’s prevalent in the private sector as well.

Why on earth WOULD THERE BE “race guideline”

Everyone should not be judged (for admission) by the color of their skin, only the content of their high-school transcripts.

Your college admissions officer was spot on.

Private colleges on the East Coast, especially the Ivies
had quotas for both Jewish students and faculty!

Although a bit too liberal for my taste, Paul Samuelson was denied a position in the economics department at Harvard because the faculty already had one Jewish faculty member.
So he went to MIT instead and helped turn it into one of the best economics departments in the world!
