Not saying that this isn’t possible, but I personally gotta believe that most field agents are definitely much more interested in crime than politics. Even the ones strongly slanted to one side or the other don’t take that to work with them. It’s the people at the top. The one’s drunk with power and influence who taint the reputation.
Finding plots before they occur is exactly the reason why we want to be able to trust agencies like this with access to the information they need.
Maybe the Feebs needed some good PR and some idiots in Cleveland gave them a hand.

Any place you can kill 10, 20, 50 people at one time is a high value target for terrorists. Their goal isn’t to cripple US infrastructure, it’s to destabilize and cause terror. In today’s political that’ll lead to even more infighting.
Personally, Cleveland looks like a perfect target to me, as well as any mid to small city that doesn’t have the resources that a NYC, LA, or DC have.

Sadly, this is always my first thought. Some sad sack running his mouth at a bar and an FBI undercover guy eggs him on until he steps over the line and the FBI can add another meaningless trophy head to its wall.

Naaah...our glorious FBI would NEVER stoop so low as to find some 80 IQ individual and manipulate him into doing some things so the FBI could get get credit for STOPPING said TERRORIST PLOT.

I fully agree with that... I find it the same in unions... The rank and file generally have little in common with the leadership.
They could blow up the Browns and it would take weeks for anyone to notice...

You are probably right. More FBI entrapments and enticements of very dim Jihadi wannabes. Probably.
The FBI might be totally truthful about this situation, but I no longer trust them even a tiny bit.
