I am nostalgic for the days before the great global warming and climate change panic.
Yesterday in Springfield, Illinois it was forecasted to be 97 degrees, but it only hit 92. The record high for this day was 104 in 1934. It is a shame that it has only been colder for 84 straight years. In reverence to Michael Mann and others we should adjust the 1930s temperatures down because they just don't match the agenda.
The record-high temperature in Springfield was 112 on July 14, 1954, and it was over 100 for 29 days in 1954 during the 1945-1976 global cooling period.
1936 heat wave culminated 75 years ago today; 50 deaths resulted
It's July. It's Illinois. It's hot. It's normal.

“You’re confusing climate with weather” -actual BS said in response to recalling correctly what it was like at any past historical point.
This last November, before winter even started, they said the winter was the “Warmest Winter EVER®©”.
Without it even starting yet.
Definitely the hottest in terms of days over 90 so far this year where I amtgat I can recall, at least since I moved here in the mid 80s.
Weather is like that, sometimes you have a hot year, sometimes a cold year, sometimes a wet year.... this year has definitely been a over average hot here so far this year.
I remember the 1960s Arkansas. Hotter than he!! and no ac at all. It was so hot all a kid could do was go to his room, lay on the bed and let the sweat roll off you. Nights were just as bad as it did not cool down and you woke up several times in the night from the heat and the bed sheets would be soaked in sweat.
Old timers used to take their beds outside and sleep under a tree.

Yep, we’ve always had hot weather. 1980, our first full summer here in the Dallas area, was the year we hit 113 three days in a row, from Jun 26-28.
Remember when the weather forecasters use to put up their maps with actual temperatures instead of heat indexes?
I remember visiting family in Arkansas in 1964. Being from Alaska, we were not used to the heat. We were there for three weeks, it never went below 87 degrees, even at night. the night we left to go home, it rained and cooled off to 78 degrees. We rolled all four windows down and hu our heads out.LOL
In Massachusetts I remember the temps hitting 100 for a day or three every summer, without fail.
Were in a heat wave right now but the temps are in the mid-90s. I have not seen the mercury hit a buck in 15 years, easily.
Glowbull Warming causes memory distortion.
Not quite right. The author says he was born in 1953 so he should know better.
In 1978 the Leftist scientist were worrying about Global Cooling and a coming Ice Age.
But a few years latter the temperatures were obviously warming and they changed the name to Global Warming.
Only the name was changed the strategy still the same. Convince the public that man is causing the climate to change and we need to have control of everything so that we can stop it.
I remember how hot it used to get before air conditioning.
Remember the articles in PopSci or PopMech about global cooling and the schemes to spray the poles with black soot? That was in the early 70s. In the early 70s there were also concerns about the population of the country shrinking. Illegals and anchor babies have taken care of that and the average well being has plummeted. We are a nation now crowded by inferiority.
It’s no longer just a heat wave; now it has political ramifications. Capitalism is responsible for everything from hurricanes to sun spots and bad hair days.
I grew up on the top floor of a Boston three decker, with a tar roof.
BRUTAL heat and no home ACs in those days, the 30s and 40s——we didn’t even own a fan.
.
It was called open windows.
Yeah, that worked-— there WAS a breeze.

Bailing hay in TN. 1970’s. 102-105 ambient. Those damn barns were hell, not to mention the wasps and long sleeve cotton shirts.
Global Cooling all the rage.
I’ve noticed the weather has been changing too.
