President Trump has five frontrunners in mind to replace Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy who announced his retirement Wednesday, according to Fox News.

The president said he would pick from a list of roughly 25 judicial nominees compiled by the Heritage Foundation and the Federalist Society during his campaign.

Is that because you had passed menopause or because you retired?

I don’t think any of these biological certitudes of women affect their long term thinking. At worst, they eat more chocolate and throw a fit when the coffee maker malfunctions.

Are you really this completely stupid? Once again your post indicates you have NO CLUE what you are talking about when you post.

MEA CULPA! I misread it to think that SHE had criticized PELOSI for being a pro-abortion, pro homosexual, anti-family Catholic.

I ain't usually that completely stupid! But it does happen now and then.

She also has the right age for a long term on the SCOTUS @ 46! She could give us 30 to 40 years of “protection” if she’s chosen, so it’s important that she be a good pick, and not some young Sandra Day O’Connor.

I think on the last pick Hardiman was Trump’s second choice for the court....so I would expect that he has the inside track on getting the seat.

He’s 53 next month, so he just makes the cut IMO. Don’t want anyone older.

Definitely not retired, neither of us, nor do we plan to retire, in the general sense!

Yes, I did pass menopause, though mine was an early surgically forced one!

Without the constrains of child-bearing, rearing, etc., I’m able to involve myself in some of my avocations.

I was always pro-life but began to reason out my convictions beyond my faith; I was always for the right to self defense, but because of my faith and love of the constitution (combined with growing up watching the “good guys vs the bad guys” in the movies and on TV) and realization that as a small woman, with no “good guy” beside me to help and never fearing guns (while playing cowboys, etc with my younger brother) I’d best learn to find the best one for my protection!

Barrett kicks ass. I could handle them all except Kavanaugh, who has Souter/Kennedy/Blackmun written all over him.

Yep, I mentioned something along those lines the other day.

Here was one (or more) women working in the most important location on the planet, and they were telling them they couldn’t eat there.

So much for supporting strong women in important places.

Exactly right.

Doubtful, at best. Too controversial, but certainly qualified.

Scalia had been Catholic, but Gorsuch is neither. Sotomayor is only formerly Catholic.

Thapar is a very publicly devout Christian, if anyone was wondering. But he seemed to believe that gays can’t sexually harass, which is very troubling.

The way she acts indicates she really is orthodox (for example, she has 7 children).

The number of children a woman has is irrelevant to their position on Roe v. Wade. Not sure how many ways I have to say it for you to "get it." Acting Orthodox doesn't mean one is (as you've noted several times.)

I'll give you a real-life example. I have an Aunt who lives in Orchard Park, New York just outside of Buffalo, New York. She and her husband have 10 children. Yes, that's right: 10. Six boys, four girls. I can name them if you want. I'll start with her oldest, named Sheilah who's 27 now and her youngest Emily who's in sixth grade.

She's as pro-abortion as one can possibly be. Yes, she's Catholic. Insists on going to mass daily, chastises me every chance she gets for leaving the Catholic church decades ago (because of people exactly like her...) volunteers within the church, proclaims the Catholic church being the "one true church" and all their children went to Catholic school.

By your standard, she'd be an Orthodox Catholic and therefore pro-life because of how she "behaves" and yet, she's pro-abortion.

The Aunt I cite above exists, she's real, has 10 kids and I'm using her as an example simply to point out the flaw in your logic and conclusion to get you to re-think your position based on your statements. Nothing more, nothing less and I hope you take our discussion here in that spirit.

She explicitly criticized Roe v. Wade (see comment 27 above).

Those who are against Roe v. Wade often criticise it for not having exceptions for "life of the mother" while proclaiming themselves to be pro-life.

That of course is a ruse of an argument since the current state of modern medicine means that there is almost NEVER a case where an abortion is needed to protect the life of the mother.

Are there very specific, narrow cases where it is required? Perhaps. I'm not a doctor and wouldn't begin to know how to make a case for that. What I can say is overwhelmingly abortion today is used as a form of birth control and that my FR friend is as wrong as wrong can be.

It’s cool I am female and quite agree with you.

There are too few Maggie Thatchers in this world.

These days, most women with seven children are either very devout believers or reckless welfare cases.

A fatal assumption and flaw in your logic which I've clearly demonstrated. Why you cling to this is known only to you.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I did not make my comments to "bash" women in any way. I've just lived through the scenario I described, have many, many, MANY friends who also did and our experiences are the same. Again, not "bashing" just how it is and honestly I think menopause is quite cruel to women. I really do.

As for Margaret Thatcher, I quite agree with you. Her famous "Don't go wobbly on me now Ronnie!" to then President Reagan I think was exactly what President Reagan needed to hear when she said it. I think they were an amazing, world-changing pair and a true force for good that came along at the exact right moment in time.

I'm 55 and I wonder if we'll all be blessed to see a similar couple of world leaders such as them come along before I pass from this earth.

I’m 54 and I think Trump is at least one. Nigel Farage?

Reagan and Maggie had old school cool, were more diplomatic, less street fighter. But that was a different time. We have to fight fire with fire right now.

That is correct. Also, he has worked on the 3rd Circuit with POTUS’ sister, who reportedly has a very favorable opinion of him.
