New York Democratic congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said late Thursday that she doesn’t think President Trump “knows how to deal with a girl” who is from the Bronx.
During an appearance on CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Ocasio-Cortez spoke about her win over Rep. Joe Crowley (D-N.Y.) in the 14th district’s Democratic primary.
Colbert, however, asked Ocasio-Cortez about the president’s tweet regarding Crowley’s loss.
“Well you know, the president is from Queens, and with all due respect - half of my district is from Queens – I don’t think he knows how to deal with a girl from the Bronx,” she told Colbert.
Ocasio-Cortez criticized Trump this week for his remarks about Crowley.
“It is unacceptable to be disrespectful of Congressman Crowley,” Ocasio-Cortez told CNN in an interview.
“He’s done some phenomenal, phenomenal work for the Bronx and Queens."
The president on Tuesday called Crowley a "big Trump hater" following the upset in New York.
“Wow! Big Trump Hater Congressman Joe Crowley, who many expected was going to take Nancy Pelosi’s place, just LOST his primary election,” the president wrote on Twitter.
“In other words, he’s out! That is a big one that nobody saw happening. Perhaps he should have been nicer, and more respectful, to his President!”
Ocasio-Cortez will face off against the Republican nominee for Congress in the November general in a heavily blue New York City district.

He was brought up in Queens. He knows exactly how to deal with a Rica Chica Communista from the Bronx.

Trump is pretty much the opposite of a Wall Street critter. He didn’t manipulate financial instruments and pieces of paper to get rich. He’s a real estate developer, and the people he’s made a career of mixing it up with are grafting politicians, corrupt construction unions, corporate tenants, the mob, and other real estate guys equally hard-nosed.
It’s always “cute” when some unaccomplished nobody with a big head comes on the scene and presumes to be on the same level as the top guy who’s done it all 10x over.
Trump should just casually say, “I DON’T deal with kids...”
There may be an opening here for
a Republican nomination. The hard
core, old school Democrats in that
district know full well the far left
socialist attitude is dangerous.
They had a very low turnout of
voters. Many may now have no
choice but to hold their nose,
and vote republican. Crowley thought
he had a sure thing, and didn’t
put much effort in his reelection.
Cortez won this like Danica Patrick
won her Indy race in 2008.
Pretty sure this President has dealt with quite a few girls from the Bronx in his time.
Communism looks attractive when there's no jobs and people fear the morning. It's a false ideology that thrives in misery and chaos but melts in sunshine and happiness....
Communism offers ‘something for nothing’ and delivers misery in exchange for freedom and dignity. It does NOT look attractive when there's full employment, a stable culture and a feeling of hope permeates the country.
Trump knows how to fight communism... he fights it with hope and decency and order...
He knew how to deal with one fron Arkansas!!!!
If New Jersey took all of greater NYC’s conservatives and gave them all their progressives the State might be a much nice place.
Even better, put all the progressives on Long Islamd ... then close the bridges, tunnel and blockaid the port.
He'll deal with her just like the clubs in Manhattan....he'll simply put up a sign that says, NO BBQ's, or NO BRIDGE AND TUNNEL TRAFFIC.

But this one has at least some amount of visual and personal appeal — you can dispute that if you know more about her — qualities entirely absent on the Seattle City Council.
She is full of herself as is Colbert.
