Chris Matthews is mad as hell about Justice Kennedy, takes it out on co-workers - (Video Gold)

Chris Matthews is mad as hell, and he's not going to take it anymore.

In fact, as far as the media personalities who have reacted poorly to news this week that Justice Anthony Kennedy will retire at the end of July are concerned, Matthews ranks among the worst.

"I don't think the Democrats should allow even meetings to occur with Trump's nominee to fill this vacancy by Justice Kennedy," the MSNBC host said in response to the bombshell announcement, adding that if Kennedy “gets replaced by a hardline social conservative, it is — the Democratic leadership will have hell to pay. They cannot let this happen. They have to play hardball.”

Way to stay on brand, my man.

“If [Democrats] allow this to proceed, they're going to look stupid, they're going to look weak, and they're going to be overthrown. I tell you, the Democratic base is wired now for a revolt,” Matthews added. “This will be the trigger for it. He shouldn't have a meeting with any of his nominees. They shouldn't have any hearings, they shouldn't show up for any hearings. They should fight this tooth and nail.”

Later, Matthews' irritation over the fact that President Trump will get to pick yet another Supreme Court Justice got to the point where he started to take his frustrations out on colleague Steve Kornaki and SCOTUSblog's Tom Goldstein.

"The Left of the Democratic Party, the progressive base of the party, and that's minorities, young people, millennials, it's also Hispanics, Latinos, African-Americans, they're tired of losing!" Matthews shouted as they discussed what Kennedy’s looming exit means for the country. "They're tired of losing!"

Kornaki tried repeatedly to outline possible steps Democratic lawmakers could take to deal with the hand they’ve been dealt, prompting Matthews to blurt out at one point,...

Chris’s rage is starting to consume him - he’s losing his coherence. At his age, that’s dangerous. He needs retire, or be retired, before he exposes, implodes, or is totally consumed.

If you use his logic....Kennedy should be forced to stay on the job for another eight years until the next Democrat President is there to replace him.

I find it fascinating how the left is literally going insane over this retirement as if it came out of thin air. First of all, he’s been hinting for TWO years. He is going to be 82 in a few weeks. God forbid he takes a retirement. And, he only voted with Liberals 50 percent of the time so it is not like it is a nuclear explosion. They sure are treating it that way. I feel for them when Ginsberg retires.....I swear there may be mass suicides and unfortunately I am not joking. They are taking this so personal. Very strange. I can hardly think we would act like that if Obama replaced Thomas or something. (Scalia was a lucky timing). Had he died the year before, we would have lost the seat for sure.

Breathe slowly Chris, in and out. Focus on the crease on Obama’s pants.

Before he explodes. There is such a thing as staying on too long. To paraphrase Dirty Harry, “A man’s got to know when to get out.”

Maybe they should have had Obama declare himself president-for-life when he had the chance. Next time.

All of this wouldn’t be so bad for the Democrats and Liberals if they hadn’t chained their Identity Core to “Roe vs. Wade”, which has been so diluted over the years that it doesn’t mean much today, really.

Chris is a ranting crackpot; seriously delusional.

His personal focus on events illustrates the mental trait of one to whom the misdirection technique is almost spontaneous--rather than contrived. [Misdirection: Familiar Leftist Tactic]

I was stunned to see him on TV. It was the first time, he looked OLD....I mean seriously OLD. He always look healthy when I saw him and very youthful looking. I hadn’t seen him in a few years and the change is dramatic. Although I guess he is OLD as he is 72. Yikes. He doesn’t have much time left on Earth. So many people are ancient today....it is crazy. We are going to have a crapload of deaths in the next 5 or so years.

"The real issue is this: Democrats are going to have to vote, because there's no procedural way to stop it before the midterm election. And there's just too many people who are running in elections, senators, in states that Donald Trump won," Goldstein said. "There's going to be enormous pressure on them, since they can't beat the nominee, to vote for the nominee. So I'll take Chris' bet at 10-to-one."

Matthews knows this. He was Chief of Staff to Speaker Tipp O'Neill. He's grandstanding for his audience.......such as it is....................

I hope the dems listen to Chrissy. If they are so obtuse as to not even meet the nominee, it will erode the position of Collins and Murkowski, as well as the 6 endangered dems for aiding in the opposition.

I don’t get it. Did liberals really think they’d go 4-8 years without any justices retiring? The Kennedy retirement has been hinted at for months. RBG is 85 and can’t stay awake. Kennedy is a Republican for crying out loud. The Court isn’t going to change radically when he is replaced by another Republican.

They have truly lost their minds, which is fine with me as losing one’s mind is counterproductive.
