Two recent studies found cops more reluctant to use deadly force against blacks, including one by a black Harvard economist. Professor Roland G. Fryer Jr. concluded: “On the most extreme use of force – officer-involved shootings – we find no racial differences in either the raw data or when contextual factors are taken into account.”
But aren’t blacks routinely “racially profiled” by cops? Not according to the Police-Public Contact Survey. Produced every three years by the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Statistics, the survey asks more than 60,000 people about their interactions with the police. It asks respondents’ to provide age, race and gender. It asks them whether they had any contact with the police in the last year; what was the experience like; how were your treated; was there a use of force and so on. Turns out, according to a September 2017 National Review article, black men and white men are about equally likely to have a contact with a cop in a given year. As to multiple contacts, defined as three or more with the police in a given year, 1.5 percent of blacks vs. 1.2 percent of whites fall in that category. Not much difference.

There was a shooting last week of an “unarmed black youth running away from a traffic stop.” Well, it turned out that the traffic stop was because the back window of the car had been shot out, the driver (it was a jitney) had basically been hijacked, there were two pistols on the floor and an empty magazine in the “youth’s” pocket, and he had been caught on video about fifteen minutes earlier shooting out of the car trying to kill a rival thug, whom he seriously wounded before fleeing.
So that’s the poor little wookums, who was probably just turning his life around until that racist cop shot him for no reason.
I guarantee you that police officers are far more lenient with even the worst African criminal compared to all other races by a wide margin.

Rosfeld was charged June 27 with criminal homicide, eight days after Rose was fatally shot in the back while running away from a traffic stop. Zappala said the shooting was not justified.”

Sounds to me like the DA wants to calm down the restless natives who are on the verge of rioting.
Better to throw some cop under the bus than to upset the thug community.
This ridiculous canard of virtuous black youths being killed by evil white cops got rolling with the media’s exploitation of Trayvon Martin (just an innocent, Skittles-loving boy!) and the “gentle giant” (Sure! He held up a store and wrestled a cop for his gun! But he did it all so gently!). The media deftly covered up any culpability by these two innocent lads, to the point where even when the absolute truth was revealed in court, a vast majority of the public still believed the media’s propaganda.
Probably the most shameless manipulation of the facts to suit an agenda, ever.
But they keep getting away with it.

Exactly what happened in Tulsa where it was the DA, in league with the mayor, when a cop shot a PCP-addled uncooperative suspect who reached inside his vehicle against the cop’s orders.
It's not that they don't, they just seem to do it at about the same rate as whites.
Everybody involved in this case is carefully parsing their words. The DA says that Antwon Rose was not involved in the earlier drive-by shooting.
Yet the story you linked to says that Rose and the actual drive-by shooter were riding around in the same car. So how was Rose not involved?
Having said that, from what I’ve read so far this was not a good police shoot. The cop involved first said that he might have seen something that looked like a gun in Rose’s hand. Then he later said that he did not see a gun at all.
The shooting came out of the back left window and Rose was in the front right seat, so because the action was on the left side of the vehicle, Rose wasn’t involved...you are supposed to ignore that there were 3 people, with 3 guns out killing people that day.

Also, the driver claims to “be an illegal cabbie who just picked up a fair”... this is called copping to a lesser crime and is a form of lying.
The driver has probably heard that if he was just a cab driver, then the crimes / murders committed by the others cannot be also pinned on him... like when one guy gives another a ride to the liquor store...but didn’t know he was about to rob it and shoot the clerk...and ends up getting charged with Murder 1. If the driver was actually a cabbie providing a service, then he can’t catch that murder 1 with the guy that robbed the store!

I see. Had Rose not been shot (which is a separate discussion) he would have charged with acting in concert. And that would have been a proper charge.
There was another thug in the car who fired the fatal shots. When the cops stopped the car, the jitney driver leaped out the door and started running - they caught him, although he was released because it was determined that he was not involved and had basically been hijacked and was afraid that the thugs were going to kill him next (because he was a witness to the first killing). “Antwon” took advantage of the moment to start running, and that was when he was shot; he wasn’t “runnning from a traffic stop,” but from being apprehended in a murder (and generally, even if he didn’t fire the fatal shot, because he was the accomplice of the person who did, he would be charged too). And there were weapons on the floor of the car and an empty clip in his pocket, so he had clearly been involved.
Let’s remember. The cops who racially profiled and acted like Mark Fuhrman on his tapes ARE DEAD OR RETIRED. Cops today are not a bunch of white racists. Today, cops of all stripes are scared to death to get into it with protected classes. My black friends think it’s the same bunch of cops on the force but it is NOT. It’s another generation. They shouldn’t be treated like they are. Almost all of the “brutality” cases in the media these past years are LIES like hands up don’t shoot. The officer was lucky to survive that one. And the egregious cases are punished severely like the N Charleston cop who is behind bars.
If a police officer shoots a Negro who is randomly shooting people on the street with a full auto weapon the cop’s only possible motivation is race hatred i.e. racism, even if the officer is, himself a Negro. Separately the mass murdering is proof that we have to outlaw and confiscate Glocks and Colts from citizens.
