Philip Rucker and Dave Weigel, two of the Washington Posts most incorrigibly biased anti-Trumpers, lead off their latest editorial thinly disguised as a news report this way:
President Trump on Sunday explicitly advocated for depriving undocumented immigrants of their due-process rights, arguing that people who cross the border into the United States illegally are invaders and must immediately be deported without trial or an appearance before a judge.
Trumps attack on the judicial system sowed more confusion. . . .
Rucker and Weigel are among the confused. Either that or they are hiding the ball.
8 U.S.C. §1182(f) of the U.S. Code confers on the president the power to turn away immigrants at the border. It provides:
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.
Rucker and Weigel do not mention this presidential power. But its existence undermines their suggestion that Trump would be denying due-process rights if he decided to deny entry to immigrants without granting them a trial or an appearance before a judge.

Constitution and Bill of Rights apply to anyone here.
I kept hearing wild talk in both directions.

Do you think if we go to Iran,Somalia,Pakistan or China we can say: I want a cross put on the wall at work,at lunch I will be conducting a Christian Holy Bible study group,I expect Easter,Christmas and Thanksgiving off with full pay,my kids are being made uneasy by your flags in the classroom so I want the American flag put up only,I don’t intend to learn your language so get used to working around that for me in English and I expect to retire based on your country’s pension system.
Maybe not. Thanks for the above information on rights.
Crap sandwich, forgot to delete the junk text I used to get the FR spelling function to render my lost with HTML tags.
This is devastating to the left. They threw everything they had against this, and they ended up with “bad law” from their perspective.
Isn’t there a law pertaining to land adjacent to land you own? Something like if the neighbor neglects it, and you take care of it, after 7 years it is yours. Mexico has neglected their side for 50+ years.
Can’t Texas provoke a war with Mexico or something?
Other Than Mexican. We have people from All over the world coming up through the southern border
It did? Silly me, I thought it had to do with denying visas per the travel ban executive order.
Do the US Constitution and Bill of Rights apply to American citizens or anyone who comes across the border?
Despite what many here think or believe should be, for the most part the US Constitution and BOR apply. They apply because the courts said so.
Same thing I said today when I heard the SCOTUS ruling. Include Meh-hee-co. I’ve always said that the border agents should just shoot at the invaders. Ask questions alter. I still adhere to that principle.
If I’m not mistaken, due process Rights do not transfer to illegal aliens? Only to U.S. citizens.
I’m personally fine with, after this ‘tard that appears to be the favorite to win El Presidente next week said “flood the USA” wins election, declaring war on Meh-hee-co and going in and deleting the cartels for them! It’s going to have to happen sooner or later anyway.
The implication is that people not in or legally in the US are not entitled to entry and the final judgement rests with the Chief Executive. Due process does not apply.
The SCOTUS ruling may make it easier for him to stem the pre-wall flow....I’d wager he’s looking at everything he can leverage from this decision....
Thanks! See? Those rascally Germans!
Brilliant...
Thanks.
Sort of like a Battle of the Nework Stars Marathon TV show where if the illegals break the tape and get one foot inside our border they cheer, panting, and then say “Senor, Por favor taxpayer paid lawyer pronto.”
After that there’s a lawsuit over the chafing on his chest cause by the border marathon tape across his body as he won the footrace.
He knows his rights and has the ACLU number on his cell phone.
It’s in the code: do it Donald
Do they have passports?
Visas??
Even if they do NOT pass thru a port-of-entry properly?
Do they have ‘squatters rights’ if they can sneak across?
