As for the "personal gain" phrase... remember the New York Port authority bitch who threatened a trooper for giving her a traffic citation, with the classic "Don't you know who I am?" offense.

If the former "director of the Office of Government Ethics" can't tell the difference, he was in the worst possible job to begin with. Criminally so. That ought to seal his chances for any future professional position of authority.

This is a perfect example of how The Hill has become an unethical publication re its leftist writers and their smear tactics.
Notice that in the whole article, the author totally failed to tell the readers what administrations Shaub served in other than a reference to him having 6 more months left on his appointment term which was ending during the Trump administration.
I get the feeling that this jerk was as quiet as a mouse about the blatant unethical actions of Obama’s top people including the two leftist clowns at the IRS - Lerner and Koskiken; the lying actions Susan Rice and Samantha Powers (also the “unmasking” actions), and the last minute action of Obama officials to poison the well for the new Trump administration.
Shaub is a left-wing, bitter SCHLAUB. Good riddance.
