Conservative columnist George Will is making the argument to vote against Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections.
In a piece published Friday in the Washington Post, Will says that President Trump's "zero tolerance" policy at the border was "the most telegenic example of misrule" and it provided “fresh if redundant evidence for the principle by which” independents and moderate Republicans should vote.
That principle he says is that the number of Republicans in office must be “substantially reduced.”
"The principle: The congressional Republican caucuses must be substantially reduced. So substantially that their remnants, reduced to minorities, will be stripped of the Constitution’s Article I powers that they have been too invertebrate to use against the current wielder of Article II powers," Will wrote. "They will then have leisure time to wonder why they worked so hard to achieve membership in a legislature whose unexercised muscles have atrophied because of people like them."
Will targets House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and many other Republican lawmakers for serving as the "president’s poodles."
"Not because James Madison’s system has failed but because today’s abject careerists have failed to be worthy of it," Will added. "Congressional Republicans (congressional Democrats are equally supine toward Democratic presidents) have no higher ambition than to placate this president."

Just like all the other “conservatives” who regularly contribute to leftstream media outlets.

The only thing conservative about George Will are the boring suits that he wears. This guy went off his rocker a long time ago, maybe because he is an atheist, or is it something else, like maybe a small member? In the end, it does not really matter as he has driven himself into insignificance.

Will fancied himself to be on an equal level to William Buckley in the world of Conservative media but he was always a second-rate wannabe. He is more like the male version of Peggy Noonan or Kathleen Parker.

Will is suffering late-stage TDS. I’m guessing he is one of the journalists who’ve been in contact with FBI agents passing him stories in exchange for money, tickets, whatever.
Will’s capacity for political analysis is impaired by his rage at Trump and the GOP. The seats to be lost by the GOP will mostly be in swing districts held by moderates. Especially if the GOP loses its majority, it will be more conservative and cohesive as a House minority and more resolutely loyal to Trump. Without the Speakership, Trump’s reelection needs will dominate the GOP Congressional agenda.
