Donald Trump will meet the Queen when he visits Britain next month, the US ambassador to the UK has told Sky News.
The president is due in Britain for a working visit on Friday 13 July - his first to the country since being elected in 2016.
It is not a state visit with all the pomp and ceremony that comes with that, so the pair would not necessarily need to meet.
But ambassador Robert Wood Johnson said that while plans have not yet been finalised, they will involve the president meeting Her Majesty.
"Meeting Her Majesty is the most important thing, because she's the head of state, and from then on, it'll be what the president wants to do."
It is thought the president will meet the Queen at Windsor Castle, as it will be closed to the public on 13 July.
He is also expected to have talks with Theresa May during his time in the UK.

He should bring her an iPod with all of his campaign speeches on it
Maybe he can get Tommy Robinson freed as a good will gesture from the Brit government.
Offer Tommy refugee status in the US.
I’m so against this trip. It will bring nothing but hysterical reaction from left-wing mental cases. He has nothing to gain from meeting with May, that idiot Boris, or the Queen - the only one who knows how to keep her trap shut!
This is going to cost him another bag of Skittles.
And that will bring yet another lesson to the general public here, that the people who oppose Trump are left-wing mental cases.
Maybe. I doubt it.
It was Starbursts.
How long before she is pressured to cancel..1..2..3
The Ambassador says that they will meet. Has the palace confirmed it?
Plans have been announced in the past and then later cancelled. I tend to agree with you that there is nothing to be gained from a visit to the UK. Or meeting with NATO for that matter.
She should appoint him prime minister.
Meghan will move mountains to get a photo op with him.
No, Meghan will be in Piccadilly Circus along with the other nuts protesting him.
To be fair, a year ago there was nothing to be gained from a meeting with Kim Jung In...
The Queen responding to Trump quietly hosting King Felipe VI of Spain this past week?
Trump fully knows that her admin was involved in trying to deny him the presidency—by hook or by crook.
So curious as to how US-UK relations will address this and be patched up, to some degree, for the future.
I love the Queen. Talk about bad press! This lady has seen a lot of it. She and our Presiden will hit it off. Both just need to float above the muck and mire and enjoy their time together as great figures in the history of two great countries.
A few years ago we were on better terms with the Brits. If the President has shown one thing it's that he views Europe as opponents and not allies. And in some respects, certainly in trade and perhaps militarily, he is correct. Regardless, Trump views most of Europe as an impediment rather than an asset. Given that why bother meeting with their leaders?
