A few years ago we were on better terms with the Brits. If the President has shown one thing it's that he views Europe as opponents and not allies. And in some respects, certainly in trade and perhaps militarily, he is correct. Regardless, Trump views most of Europe as an impediment rather than an asset. Given that why bother meeting with their leaders?
Art of the deal...Trump is in a position of great advantage now, and everyone knows it and sees it. I have no idea what his trip purpose is, but I doubt he is going over to do photo ops. He’s extracted something from everything he has done. Why do folks here think this trip will be different?
