Crocodile tears are flowing from Democrats and their allies in the Democrat Media Industrial Complex (DMIC) over the Trump administration’s enforcement of immigration laws signed by then-President Bill Clinton in 1997, followed by then-President Barack Obama’s decisions and policies.
Immigration laws are a function of every country on the planet. Otherwise, why have borders? Which is something Democrats would apparently prefer not to have — or enforce. Because they want a recurring wave of new underclass voters, dependent upon the state for all their needs. Illegal aliens fit that description perfectly.
The latest salvo in the immigration imbroglio stems from illegal alien children flooding across America’s Southern border being separated from their parents.
The 1997 law that Mr. Clinton signed says minor children who enter the United States illegally must be separated from their parents who are sent to jail because they crossed the border illegally. Because children cannot accompany their parents to jail, they are separated and sent elsewhere, either shelters or foster homes.
A Friday Wall Street Journal story says nearly 1,500 young immigrant boys are being sheltered inside a converted Walmart supercenter in Brownsville, Texas, about six miles from the border with Mexico. The shelter opened last year with a capacity of about 1,200. It expanded last month and had fewer than 50 beds to spare Wednesday afternoon.
The shelter, said the story, is one of 100 such facilities in 17 states run by contractors for the government. “It is the largest licensed child care facility of its kind housing immigrant kids sin the country.”
Currently, the story continues, “most of the boys at the center, who are age 10 to 17, came to the U.S. without their parents, according to Alexia Rodriguez, vice president of immigrant child services and legal counsel for Southwest Key.”
The boys, some teenagers, will “likely spend around two months living, studying and adjusting to the U.S. at the shelter, living in dorm style rooms with up to five beds.”
They meet at least once a week with a therapist, occasionally take field trips to church, parks or the beaches of South Padre Island. And inside the structure, life is “highly structured, with meal times choreographed in two-hour blocks and outdoor time on a playground or basketball courts limited to just two hours a day. The boys’ nearly every movement is monitored by staff members.”
As of Wednesday, says the Department of Health and Human Services, the government was caring for 11,351 illegal alien children. A spokesman said they remain in the government’s care in a foster home or groups shelter for about 56 days. They leave when placed with a sponsor, either a parent or other relative willing “to promise the government they will take care of the immigrant children and make sure they attend immigration court proceedings.” Having announced plans to open tent cities to house the illegal alien kids, HHS officials are considering housing the alien children on military bases.
Though it’s unclear how many families have been separated since the zero-tolerance policy was enacted in early May, the U.S. Border Patrol said it arrested nearly 9,500 illegal aliens traveling as part of families, and “separately nearly 6,500 child immigrants traveling alone were arrested after crossing the border.”
Writing that Democrats created this entire situation, Ed Straker, senior writer at Newsmatchete.com, says Democrats allied with the courts “created a magnet of welfare benefits for illegal aliens who entered the country. It was so tantalizing that’s some families south of the border sent their children across, knowing they would get free food, shelter and education.
“Secondly, Obama expanded the definition of ‘asylum’ to include people who claimed they feared ‘crime gangs’ or even feared abusive husbands. They incentivized illegal aliens to make up stories of persecution and to flood the border, creating another magnet that drew in all these illegal aliens — and their children.
“Thirdly, Obama largely stopped prosecuting illegal aliens criminally for crossing the border.”
The Trump’s administration enforcement of the law has enraged Democrats and the DMIC. Which is ridiculous.
“But if you look at what caused the children to be here in the first place,” says Mr. Straker, “it was Democrats. Democrats expected the parents, and their kids, to be able to walk across the border, be given a court date many years in the future and be free to melt into the population — in effect, be given a ‘get out of jail free’ card. People south of the border, knowing this, have flooded across by the millions.”
Those decrying the Trump’s administration enforcement of Mr. Clinton 1997 law should consider the American taxpayers’ cost of providing health care and housing to illegal aliens and then education to their children. Along with more costs, public and private, of enforcing laws broken by illegal aliens.
Entering Mexico illegally is a felony that can net years in prison. In the U.S., illegal aliens can protest under their nation’s flag. In Mexico, no foreign resident can demonstration against the government.
If those entering America illegally don’t like America’s laws, if they find them cruel, they should stay home. It’s past time for America to enforce her laws and to take the unsustainable flow of illegal aliens, created by Democrats, seriously.

The Democrats and never-Trumpers are milking this situation for all its worth. I even heard Laura Bush condemn it.
Everyone is using this issue to demonize President Trump. However, no one has given a satisfactory solution to it. You can’t have the children held in detention with their parents. The detention facilities are a hostile place for children. Criminals may sexually molest them or use them as hostages to get out of detention. Some of the children are actually victims of child trafficking. How do you prove that those who say they are the parents are actually the parents? Many are gang members using the kids as their ticket to settle in America where they can traffic narcotics. With the number of illegal aliens demanding asylum, it takes lots of time to process each case.
Then there are the Democrats looking at this as the trick to open the borders. The more they can get in America, the more voters they will have that vote Democrat. At the same time, these new workers will compete in the job market by working for lower wages. Also, if this causes unemployment to go up, it hurts Trump.
they are trying to stampede the herd over a cliff. This is the upteenth time they are doing this. The kids are in better shape, under better care than they have ever been in their lives. Trump needs to hold fast and those of us who support him do too.
The kids are not being harmed. That is just the hysterics of the Left we hear and it will go away in a few days, a week or so.
The intentions are to make a big deal about yet another phony cause. If they don’t want to separate families who cross the border illegally, don’t let them cross the border illegally.

But... they do want to separate the families. Without a 'problem' like that to solve, the dems would have nothing to 'promise' to fix. THAT is their only value... to offer to solve problems THEY created. Of course... they never solve those problems.
Another disingenuous plot by the dimocrats to deflect from all the crimes committed by the intelligence agencies in Hillary’s behalf. If these people really gave a flip about children their controlled news agencies would be reporting on all the human trafficking rings and pedophiles that are being taken down.
I don’t know anyone that doesn’t think these illegals are bringing this upon themselves as a consequence of breaking the law. Dimocrats never said a peep about all the children in the hands of coyotes whose parents had SENT THEM HERE ALONE during the Obama years.

I say put the kids to work in sweat shops- make good use of their time here in the states illegally-
Dem’s and the Left love borders. They love borders in their towns, subdivisions, hipster inner city neighborhoods, beach front communities on the West Coast, the Hamptons, places like that. Their borders aren’t necessarily walls and fences, they’re home prices and property values. They’re schools and school districts that the Dem’s don’t want infected by the 3rd world savages they pretend to want to help. They are ok with these people crossing their borders to cut the grass, paint the house, do the laundry, clean the tables in their trendy restaurants, but when the job is done, they must go home to the ghetto they created, somewhere down the road. And they look just like the ones they said they had to flee because they were so dangerous.
So, I’m thinking that the President could solve the immigration problem very quickly. First, state that they will get no more benefits and EVerify is mandatory. Second, put out a PSA that since the Left, Dem’s and Liberal’s show such compassion for the savages, that those that are here, prior to deportation will be sent to all the liberal, hipster, inner city and suburban hubs of all things on the Left. Allow them the demonstrate to the world, just how kind, caring and compassionate they are, when the savages are living next door.

You want to know the truth, the US has the means to put an end to illegal immigration for the most part but we do not have the political willpower to do it currently, simple as that, and I wonder if it was not for the cheap labor and illegal votes would big business and government support it?
