It will be as worthless as he is. Very symbolic of his incredibly expensive and waste filled presidency.
From the article, it sounds like the government funding is from the State of Illinois. How is this bankrupt state going to be able to handle the $224 million expenditure? What a joke.

WOW, Illinois is going broke and the government robs the taxpayers of $200 million for Bambi’s play house. This will keep the momentum on for the Exodus of Illinois.
I don’t have a problem with allocating more money for Obama, provided it’s spent on his prosecution and incarceration.
Well, if this stupidity is limited to Illinois, even though it’s stupid, but that still makes me feel better than the feds ripping us off the way they do everything else.

That is that Obama is the Alpha and Omega of all this
daily political drama we experience. Yes, the Deep State
pre-dates Obama but they hitched their star to him and
he flew with it. He used and abused his power to
establish a legacy at odds with the truth to put it
mildly. A proper Obama Library would be a lesson in
abuse of power and abuse of government agencies which
are supposed to enforce the law and maintain integrity.
But, then, who am I kidding? However this thing plays
out we already know that Obama and the Clintons will
somehow be protected from the light of truth.

Both private citizens and taxpayers. Before any bricks get laid, a private foundation is created to raise the money for the both the building and an endowment to run special programs and exhibits. In order to keep former presidents from erecting another Great Pyramid in their honor, the government requires that the bigger the square footage, the bigger the endowment. Once the building is dedicated, the library is turned over to the National Archives and Records Administration, which runs it, paying for both the staff, such as a director and archivists--who are federal employees--and much of the maintenance."
I'd like to see the list of his contributors to that endowment. Obama's foundation started in 2014. His foundation got a 7 year rent-free deal from Chicago if they would house a branch of the Chicago Public Library there.
According to a 2018 article: "The OPC - Obama Presidential Center - Opioid Procurement Center will not include an official government-run National Archives and Records Administration presidential library.
