An Oklahoma City security guard used nunchucks to take down a man who was armed with two steak knives last week, police said.
Oklahoma City police were called to a report of a disturbance at an apartment complex on June 8 and when officers arrived they discovered that a security guard was holding Jerome Thompson, 31, on the ground, according to FOX OKC.
The man had been staying with residents at the complex and was having drug issues, according to OKC FOX. The guard told police that he noticed Thompson was coming at him with the knives while he was delivering the pamphlets. Thompson allegedly told the guard he wasnt leaving and that he was going to kill him.
The guard pulled out the nunchucks and struck Thompson as he was charging, according to the station. The guard was able to hold Thompson down while bystanders called the police.
The guard wasnt immediately identified.
Thompson faces assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and trespassing complaints, the station reported.

That is so cool.
Every guy in my school wanted to do that just like Bruce Lee.
I never heard of Security Guards walking around with Nunchucks. Good for him. He must be trained in the Dark Arts of Self Defense, or self taught.
The first lesson is for the user to learn not to smack himself in the mouth with his own ‘chucks’.
It’s not like twirling a pistol before setting it in the holster. A lot can happen.
All the cool kids had some when I was in middle school / early high school in the mid-1970s. I didnt realize they were still a thing.
If you're past 30 years old and still rocking that set of nunchucks, congratulations, you're weird.
Don’t bring a knife to a nunchuck fight.
In fact, even 2 knives may not be enough.
When I was in high school/junior high Nunchucks were the cool thing. They were hard to find and supposedly illegal. At lot of kids made their own. We were industrious back then.
Shows how a common farm tool such as the rice flail can be turned into a weapon after the Japanese disarmed the people of Okinawa several centuries ago.
“Your life peaked at 31 re-enacting an old Bruce Lee movie...”
Ok, but I can think of many things far less admirable.
I train with all 3 common impact weapons straight baton and a PR24 side handle baton and Nunchucks.
The straight baton was easy they are just a club the PR24 took more training and practice but IMOP is the most controllable and very effective impact weapon .
The Nunchucks are not as controllable as far as damage they can inflect but if I wanted to cause some one serious injury I would pick the Nunchucks
First cool use of paracord way back in the day. So early it was only commonly available in white.
Yes! para-cord! Some of the more industrious of us actually found and used small chains. BTW, we called it nylon cord, most of us had never heard the word para-cord.
The suspect, Mr. Thompson, also had marshal arts training, but unfortunately he trained under Bruce Leebowitz...
