Ron Howard has one question on his mind, and it has nothing to with his latest film, Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Honest question to #MAGA minders, the 64-year-old tweeted Thursday. When was America at its greatest? Can you tell me an era that reflects the Again that you hope to return to?
The Oscar-winning filmmaker and former Happy Days actor quickly started a conversation with users who had different opinions of President Trumps famous slogan.

Thanks for posting an excellent list of great things about the past.
I remember when kids could easily get work to earn money, like selling newspapers (I did).
And when the Sunday comics pages of newspapers were abundant and non-political - and funny.
When fun places for kids were abundant and low cost, like roller rinks, ice skating, soda fountains, museums & zoos (yes places were free for kids), drive-in movies, etc.
When parking spots were abundant, and parking meters took only a few pennies.
Guess he forgot about the time as a kid he spent on “The Andy Griffith Show.”
We as a nation have yet to achieve our full capability ....... for greatness.

This is why we are always losing
That video is reversed. The marimbas are backwards and the bass player in Reg’s band was not left handed.
Thank you
I saw that and just went and took a piss
Felt better

You do and thnank you..again
GOP worship is a fools bargain
I bet that poster doesnt realize Free Republic heroes opposed all that crap
Now I’m glad I put off seeing Ron Howard’s movie ‘Solo’ in the Cineplex. I don’t want to put any money in his pocket. I will wait until my local library system gets dozens of DVD’s of the film and take it out for free.
1945.
‘When was America at its greatest?’ Certainly not while the bonafide communist that he and Andy Griffith endorsed via a television ad was twice elected president. It was really hard to watch for any fan of the 60s show.
My answer to Ron the leftist is pretty much anytime between 1776 and say 1960 when kennedy was elected and leftists started in earnest to destroy the country. However, lots of work was done earlier by other leftists like Presidents wilson and roosevelt that allowed the hippie leftists in the 60s to really go to work destroying the foundations of society.

It’s been downhill since the ‘80s. I remember watching the New Years Eve ball drop on tv on 12/31/89 to 1/1/90 and having a sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach that it was going to be a rotten decade. Boy, I didn’t know the half of it.
Maybe until Nov 7, 1963. The Kennedy assassination did seem to goober a lot of things up. If JFK were alive today, he’d be considered a conservative.
In my lifetime, the 1980s seemed pretty great. The culmination (vindication) of the Reagan era was when the Berlin Wall fell and our lopsided victory in Gulf War I. Unfortunately, winning the Cold War gave us a sense of security that opened the door to the Clintons, SJWs, Socialism, and cultural Marxism.
Henry Winkler (Fonzi from Happy Days) was in it too.
Yes, I can. It was between 1948 and 1949; The Berlin Airlift.
American and Allied pilots broke the Soviet blockade of East Berlin, Germany.
It has been called "America's Finest Hour."
The day before the Kennedy assassination. Afterwards we got heavily involved in Vietnam, forced our black population onto the government plantation and soon afterwards started murdering babies.
When was America Great? I believe it was when Hollywood was American, not a bunch of a—holes who hates America. Ron, you need to get out into FLYOVER COUNTRY. You might see Mayberry.
Any time before a democrat ws elected!!!
The left will twist “great” for “perfect”, when the intention is not to be great for any one period but to be constantly perusing to,be “a more perfect union”.
Great was anytime where our exceptionism was transformative, and we stood proud of our ideals.
There’s never been a moment in our history when we were great for everyone. But name another country that can self correct from within.
