Maybe until Nov 7, 1963. The Kennedy assassination did seem to goober a lot of things up. If JFK were alive today, he’d be considered a conservative.
In my lifetime, the 1980s seemed pretty great. The culmination (vindication) of the Reagan era was when the Berlin Wall fell and our lopsided victory in Gulf War I. Unfortunately, winning the Cold War gave us a sense of security that opened the door to the Clintons, SJWs, Socialism, and cultural Marxism.
