We Finally Know Why Rand Paul's Neighbor Attacked Him

UPDATE: Sen. Rand Paul's (R-KY) office has provided Townhall the following statement regarding last year's attack.

"Before Senator Paul was violently attacked from behind, he had no conversations or discussions with the attacker. There was no 'longstanding dispute.' This description is untrue. It is impossible to have a dispute when no words of disagreement were ever spoken - neither immediately nor at any other time before the attack occurred. In the decade prior to the attack, Senator Paul had no contact with the attacker.

The attack was a pre-meditated assault that broke six of the Senator’s ribs and was complicated by fluid and blood around the lung and recurrent pneumonia. Any description of this attack that implies a “yard dispute” justifies such violence and misses the point."

ORIGINAL POST

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was left with six broken ribs, including three displaced fractures, and months of intense pain that felt like 1,000 knives after his neighbor attacked him last year. The assailant, Dr. Rene Boucher, attacked Paul while he was mowing his lawn. The senator had just stepped off the lawn mower and was wearing silencing earmuffs and never saw or heard his neighbor coming.

Contrary to original rumors, Boucher's attack on the senator was not about politics. He was upset about yard debris, according to new court documents. From the Associated Press :

It said the disagreement over yard debris dates back to September 2017, when Paul piled a 10-foot-wide (3-meter-wide) stack of limbs onto a spot near Boucher’s property. The pile sat until October, when Boucher picked it up and hauled it away in portable dumpsters.

“Even though this debris was not on Dr. Boucher’s property, he viewed it as unsightly — as it was placed directly in his line of sight from his patio and the back door of his house,” the court record said.

Two more piles of debris appeared in the same month, and Boucher burned the pile on Nov. 2. Boucher used gasoline and suffered second-degree burns that he needed treatment for, the memorandum said.

The next day, Paul used his lawnmower to blow leaves onto Boucher’s yard and then made another branch pile in the same spot, it said.

“As Dr. Boucher has stated throughout, he lost his temper and tackled Rand Paul as Paul was carrying branches from another location on his property and placing them on the property line,” the memorandum said.

Boucher, formally requested to be placed on probation in court on Friday. Special Prosecutor Bradley Shepard had his own request: a 21-month prison sentence. Sentencing is this Friday.

What I get out of this story?

The Associated Press are big, purposeful liars. Totally fake news made up to carry a narrative away from typical Leftwing Homosexual rage and violence.

They knew their story was false when they wrote it.

Fake news, indeed.

There is of course no excuse for the assault on Rand. However, I'm suspecting that Rand likely engaged in some a-holery, if you know what I mean. You know, like what he does on the senate floor sometimes when he's holding up some Trump-related legislation to make some obscure point.

Sounds about right.

It gets a little expensive to fence in your property when you get into acreage. I have 12 acres. My neighbor to the south has 9 acres. My neighbor to the north has over 50.

Yep, I think so too and he overdid it a bit, sounds like the guy was already a little unhinged.

“Sounds like Paul has a neighbor who does not understand the concepts of “private property” or “mind your own business”.”

Could be. On the other hand, appears to me the good Senator was being his usual self, a jerk....

“Rand Paul is a lousy neighbor, so’s the other guy. Seems like Rand Paul was intentionally baiting the guy. I’d let him off with probation and send them both to anger management counseling.”

Sounds like the neighbor’s first response to Paul doing something he disapproved of was to try and kill him. Why not just ask him to stop building a brush pile near the property line?

If you check out the “Mad Doctor’s” property on Zillow, you’ll find that the property is not on the lake, but Rand Paul’s is barely on the lake. There would only be a lake view from the “Mad Doctor’s” house if Rand Paul were to cut the trees on his property. However in the “Mad Doctor’s” add selling his house he states, “Lake View.” When prospective buyers look out from the house and don’t see the lake, I’m sure they walk away. The “Mad Doctor” is a proven liar. https://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sale/97266500_zpid/36.971785,-86.367863,36.970139,-86.371639_rect/17_zm/1_fr/

“Perhaps the community regulations forbid a permanent structure”

.............................................

Hadn’t thought of that, could be - but at this point I think if Rand wanted to put up any type of fence - heck, even barbed wired - he could probably get a zoning variance now for that!

Boucher sounds like an unbalanced A hole. My neighbor just cut down a bunch of trees and now I can see into HIS neighbor’s yard, which is an unholy mess.
I did not attack him though.

So what was it? Paul piling branches or Paul getting off his lawn mower? I’m still confused. Either way Boucher needs jail time and psychiatric counseling for OCD.

“If I had a nice neighbor that hauled away my branches, I would continue to put more branches there for him to return the favor”

indeed. btw, i live in a semi-rural neighborhood with very large lots ... lots of trees and bushes ... lots of dead branches ... most of us have a large branch pile somewhere in our backyard where we pile our branches until we have enough to haul off ... unfortunately, no one has every hauled off my branches for me ...
