The thing that bothers my about our side is this.
You can be totally in the right, but get so incensed by it that you go overboard and become the problem.
When attacked, keep you cool, tell the police what happened, and then back off. You have to let them handle it the way they want.
Complain the next day in the media, on your favorite forum. Don’t confront the officers with smart talk because you don’t think they did enough.
You’re not going to win that one.
I don’t know what fully took place here, so this is just a general outline and suggestion. If this sort of thing was not the case, then there may be more of a problem here than I was first inclined to think.

We are thinking this all wrong. Need to get pro democracy group together and cut it in half. Then move the other half to observe what cars they arrive in (tire slashing) then have them move in behnd the protesters. When ATIFA attacks, the other half bum rushes them from behind to beat the hell out of them. When they run for their cars tires are flat and repeat beating the hell out of them.
