I guess I’m a bit more pessimistic than you are. I fully expect NY to to fish around and come up with some state “crime” to hang on D’Souza. Maybe it’ll be a tax thing. Who knows?
As you noted, it probably wouldn’t stand up in court. But their main goals are just to harass D’Souza, and to try to embarrass Trump.

Unfortunately not. The president can only issue pardons for federal crimes. Wrong. The Constitution clearly says the President can pardon crimes IN THESE UNITED STATES, with the exception of impeachment.
